Ron Jeremy Takes on Porn Pirates
Written by Ernesto on March 18, 2008The legendary Ron Jeremy has had enough of video streaming sites such as YouPorn and PornTube, that host pirated versions of his epic movies for free. Jeremy says adult content deserves the same respect as Hollywood’s majors do, and is happy that Vivid Entertainment is going after these sites.
The public needs to understand that piracy is killing the adult industry, Jeremy said: “What harms the industry is the Internet. Before it was helpful. Every company had its own website. Now you have things like YouPorn and PornTube that show full-length features of Vivid’s movies. Who the f— do they think they are?”
Luckily for Jeremy, one of the world’s largest adult film creators, Vivid Entertainment Group, has had enough of these sites as well. Last December the company announced that it was taking legal action against PornoTube.com, and after that similar video streaming services.
“Now Vivid is suing them,” said Jeremy, while demanding the same treatment as his colleagues in Hollywood. “You wouldn’t see YouTube play a full-length feature of a Steven Spielberg film. But they think that it’s just porn so they can get away with it. So now Vivid is striking back. Piracy is piracy, whether the film is PG, R or X. We deserve the same respect.”
Jeremy is not the only one who is upset with all the pirates clips that float around on the Internet. In September we reported that some of the leading adult webmasters were discussing how they could take on BitTorrent sites, something they haven’t succeeded in so far.
There is no doubt that adult clips are widely shared on the Internet, especially via BitTorrent. Approximately 5% of all files being shared on public BitTorrent trackers are adult content, and most of these files are copyrighted. On top of that, sites such as Empornium, PureTnA and Cheggit solely focus on sharing porn, and are among the most popular private BitTorrent trackers on the Internet.

Go Ron Jeremy sue all of the gazillion porn sites. Which you have now made more popular.
Ron Jeremy isn’t a total jerk; he’s just found a nice spot to be, and wants to keep the status quo; many are guilty of the same “crime”.
He does have a day job, by the way; he started out with a university degree, as a certified school teacher. Its his girlfriend that got him into pr0n.
I don’t agree with him, i.e. I hold many of the same arguments against the porn industry as the music and movie industries, but he’s not (really) pure evil, either.
I don’t think he deserves to be dumped on THAT much.
I think the adult pornography industry is undergoing much of the similar experience that the music industry is. I’m not talking copyright protection, suing, or worry about silly things like what websites are posting your videos. We’re talking a major change in content, content quality, and accessibility. P2P, YouPorn, RedTube, Pornotube, all of these sites are bringing amateur pornography of very good quality to the forefront.
You don’t *need* to go to the store to buy a funded porno anymore. Go watch your next door neighbor bang his wife for free on PornTube with a pretty good quality video.
Ron doesn’t deserve to be dumped on, but he’s taking the exact same stance that the RIAA took so many years ago, and we all know how that’s going to go. You’re going to lose, Ron, so come back to us and be our friend and not our enemy. Because we will fucking steamroll you.

I don’t see full length pictures on those sites but rather clips. In fact most clips over 3 min’s are amateur or 70’s-80’s.
In fact the vast majority of clips on those sites are really teasers to sign up for whatever site made the thing (or happens to have their sponsor ads on the right hand side of the page)
Vivid and Ron Jeremy seem to be falling into the same thinking that is the rut that the movie studios and recording labels are in. Why waste money trying to stop it when you have the funds to fully exploit the free marketing that is there by submitting your own clips.

I would have thought these sites would be fairly easy to take down when you take into consideration adult sites need to have proof that the pornstars are 18+ years old - can’t really do that when you have random videos everywhere and you have no idea how old the performers are.
Either this is just a free plug or a joke. You can’t copyright illegal content, not that I’d want the crap anyway.

what dark corner of the internet have you been lurking in? full length movies are streamed online, in just as shitty resolution as that streamed porn crap. tudou for one probably has it, theyre much more likely to take down clips of the tibetan riots than they are to take down any american movies. besides, the resolution on youporn or whatever sucks, ron should know that its more of a full length ad for the actual title, especially with the porn industry releasing hd dvds. the porn industry needs to adapt to the new distribution methods, now that the public has more of an ability to demand some actual quality. how about a site where you pay per month per gigabyte or even per movie, via ftp or p2p?

Porns cost nothing to make and bring in more money than Hollywood movies. They don’t even use copy protection on their dvd’s cause it cuts in on their profits. If they don’t care enough to even use copy protection screw em’.
