You are assuming that this is all for money. It never was. It is about control. I am sure Russia doesn’t mind implementing the infrastructure for removing information from a social network, in particularly not with what’s going on in the Ukraine right now. And the US gives them the leverage? Sure they’ll push for it. Since it is their own report, the US can’t be on the 301. And they don’t need to because they already have access to all servers and logs etc in the US.So why push that further? They don’t care about a few MP3s or movies, which is clear from the examples you also point out (Youtube and Yahoo, which are both american companies). It’s very obvious that the US pushes for restricting internet services everywhere else but their own soil, where still all so-called infringing sites are available. If that then helps US companies as well (the alphabet soup people) and removes competition, then even better…

Then come on attacking VK about MP3s is really a case of closing the barn door after Napster had the digital horses flee back all of 16 years ago. Even if VK never hosted an MP3 ever again then the users would still go on sharing through another 1000 methods.

So the MAFIAA only gets major control over VK while infringement continues unaffected,
