It’s very interesting seeing so many people backing up Geohot now that LulzSec is held responsible. As little as three months ago I was being attacked for supporting Geohot. I see now a revolutionary turn of events.

Pick your battles. And stick to your battles. And don’t get all pissed off because you can’t get on your Game system. Now you’re very free to say “Geohot did a good thing!” and “LulzSec are Heroes!”, etc. etc.

Except that he didn’t do anything wrong. Jailbreak has been deemed legal by courts around the world. DRM is shit and only annoys the users. They can go M$ style and ban from the PSN network. I for one wouldn’t care one bit, I own an Xbox and I couldn’t care less about Live.

Sony was hacked because they could be hacked. It just happen to coincide time wise with the Geohot issue.

But never the less it was a teaching moment for companies in general. Sometimes it just isn’t worth chasing that last nickle. Better to leave well enough alone and just call it part of the cost of doing business. its not like they were hurting for money. Think of it as giving out free samples.

Now, Sony has hung a huge bulls-eye on its corporate self and every person that works their. Serious people with serious skills are going to try and disrupt and cause embarrassing things to happen. Many you will never here about because they will be controlling there image, or trying to :-)

It is fact that not everyone can afford to pay for games and other digital media. There is vast difference between the rich and the poor in this world and most of of the people are poor and cant afford to pay for stuff.
We used to have public libraries where people could borrow a book for study or pleasure but there is no provision for this in the digital age so people make provision.

I’m one of what many would call those old guys (I loved the 80′s ) and I can tell you this prick at SONY has pissed of folks in every age bracket. We original arcades, the ones who were the teens when NINTENDO showed a game console could be fun hate this MF’er just as much as the Gen-Xer’s or the Gen-Yer’s. SONY blew it and big time and while customers ultimately were hurt, at least SONY got the message that if they push too hard the non-corporate owned hacker community will hit back.

I personally don;t have such skills but I certainly can cheer them on.
