great movie although i think it would be better if it leaned toward a single genre because its like a mix of extreme adult humor with a childs movie type of plot but hilarious in some parts none the less.

Saw that movie two hours ago, truly awesome. Not exactly Pixar standards but for the second most expensive Norwegian movie that was some pretty cool stuff.

Real gritty and evil … that’s why it didn’t sell.

Support this guy, I might even buy the DVD.

I remember watching this about a year ago and thinking it was fine. The animation suited the film and it’s story. It did seem cheap in some parts but a lot of films do at some points.

The more I see of Norwegian animation, the more it convinces me that Norway has to be the home of the most amateur animators in the world.

Considering there are some of the best animation houses in the world in Ireland, England, France and in Central Europe, why do I keep seeing Norwegian animation? Does the Norwegian government give tax breaks and grants depending on the lack of skill the filmmaker has?

this movie is awesome, ignore the critics most of them get blinded by the over analytical approach to movies that sometimes spoils a film

its a great movie, the humours good and some bits are really happy and some sad

all in all id give it a 9/10
the film critic inside would give it a 5/10 as its not high brow, but thats what makes it great from a non-critic perspective

Seriously, it seems dark norwegian huour combined with a touch of concience isn`t for the audience on this isle. You might conclude that an isle which is famed for quick, easy and useless music (brit-pop) would be a wrong market, but it does find it way among blockbusters like “Trainspotting” and other great UK flicks with the same sence of dark humour.
So why the bad press?

Well, again, its dark, serious, and yet incredibel funny if you have insight to see the stereotypes, recognise the behaviour, and see the paralell to our modern society.
How money clouds all judgement and concience, care for others wether they are humans and animals.

The only thing i can see would be a problem is that the persons obvously are norwegian, (as the big angry hunter and the “lapps”), which isnt easly to recognice and relate to for non-norwegian persons.

But realy, it is an incredibly funny movie, especially if you do as i did the second time i watched the movie: smoking a big-as j***t! :D

i hope its good, and as that intelligent director stated, if i like it i might buy it.
