I don't see why the lower court rulings "had" to be kept private. Does anyone understand why there were kept private?

"as in Sweden. There the Pirate Bay ruling and the introduction of IPRED Act (ie the Swedish implementation of EU Directive on Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement) meant that music sales in 2009 increased by approximately 10%."

Some people are still stupid enough to still believe what the corporation of parasites and liars are telling them.

Pathetic.

I love Norway and I am sad to see that the industry has managed to corrupt the Norwegian government too.

Hopefully it will be temporary until the Norwegian people do something about this.

I am not happy about this decision. I happen to be Norwegian(and French) :P I saw the movie, and i think it was kinda average anyway. What i am not happy is i found out Espen Töndel lives in my friggin neighbourhood! I have seen him several times around..

Well, this is one movie I know I will NOT be dling, nor will I be buying from the stores, nor watching it online or at theatres.

In fact, I'm going to ban myself from watching any movies or stuff whose owners take such drastic action.

Heck, I may just ban myself from getting anything from Norway.

Who knows what will happen next?

@10 Jul 04, 2010 at 19:52 by truth:
You are right. In fact, the 10% increase seems to follow the latest trends in revenue growth. MAFIAA and merry friends will not admit it, obviously.

I do pity the user of that specific IP. He is probably just a scapegoat since the real source must have used super-seeding making him/herself safe from the usual brainless assumptions MAFIAA makes (the first seeder is the source, one download equals one lost sale etc).

Despicable as always. And seems Norway judicial system needs reforming...

10% growth could be due to population growth or music lacking DRM (Digitally Restricted Media) being made available online. Saying that it is due to Orwellian oversight of the internet, by privately held corporations does not make it true.

CEO Marte Thorsby. “Hopefully the fact that we now have the opportunity to pursue civil illegal file sharing cases in Norway will provide the same results here as in Sweden. There the Pirate Bay ruling and the introduction of IPRED Act (ie the Swedish implementation of EU Directive on Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement) meant that music sales in 2009 increased by approximately 10%.”

What kind of an argument is that? IPRED has lead to 1 case since it's inception, and the Pirate Bay ruling only lead to huge increases in traffic. Neither of these events had what the Pro-Copyright groups would consider positive results. The Pirate Bay is still sailing, and if the Pirate Party gets a seat it's going to stay floating for a long time. Piracy is at record highs, so the 10% increase cannot possibly be labeled as a corollary from any scientific or mathematic stand-point. This is going to be an issue for free speech and privacy. Companies should not have the right to affect the law.

hopefully, the idiot film maker has just signed his own career death warrant (metaforically speaking). if he never sells another disk and no one goes to see or hire future works, perhaps he will then realise what an absolute f*****g nob-brain he has been and how big a can of worms he has opened. i wonder how long it will be before his personal privacy, not work, is invaded and how he will react. bet he wont be a happy bunny. and as for Espen Tøndel, he is just a lying arsehole, who should never be allowed to practice law!
