I don’t think I would be comfortable enough to use a VM on a PC that’s physically connected to a drive used for financial stuff (credit card orders, etc.) or personal data. The skill and ability of hackers and programmers being reported in the news, backdoors and other such nonsense is enough to convince me that the air gap method (with no wireless capability) is the only way to keep important data totally secure now days.
