Last month a working group of the Dutch Parliament published a report in which they made various suggestions on how to deal with online piracy. In their analysis they made several false accusations against the Dutch based BitTorrent site Mininova, who today announce that they will take legal steps if they don’t get a public rectification.

Earlier this week Mininova and the Dutch anti-piracy outfit BREIN fought out a civil dispute in court. In broad terms, BREIN demanded a copyright filter but an in-depth look at their demands reveals that they also suggest the BitTorrent site to block torrents tracked by The Pirate Bay and ban uploaders such as aXXo.

Mininova, one of the largest BitTorrent sites on the Internet, will launch a new feature today that will help artists, labels and other content producers to generate revenue. The Dutch record label ‘Beep! Beep!’ is one of the first to try the new feature, which allows content producers to add ’shopping links’ to their free torrents.
