In the shadows of the criminal case against Megaupload, another popular cyberlocker is quietly ending its own legal dispute. DepositFiles has settled the million dollar lawsuit adult magazine publisher Perfect 10 brought against them. The latter accused DepositFiles of engaging in and facilitating mass-copyright infringement and demanded a minimum of $5m in damages.

After 8 years the legal battle between Google and adult magazine publisher Perfect 10 has been put to rest. The latter accused the search giant of a variety of copyright infringement breaches which included Google’s use of cached images. In a final attempt to save the case, Perfect 10 offered a $25,000 bounty to anyone who could prove wrongdoing on Google’s part but the initiative failed. The case has now been dismissed without the option for further appeal.

Microblogging platform Tumblr has been sued for millions of dollars by adult publisher Perfect 10. Perfect 10 are no strangers to lawsuits. From 2005 to the present day they have sued several huge companies for either allegedly using their images without permission or somehow being connected to infringements. Having sued Google, RapidShare, Microsoft, MegaUpload, Mastercard and Visa without success thus far, they now have Usenet service provider Giganews in their crosshairs.

Adult media company Perfect 10 has come out all guns blazing in yet another lawsuit adventure. This time it has targeted cyberlocker Megaupload, with claims that the file-hosting giant infringed its copyrights, infringed and damaged its trademarks, and engaged in unfair competition. Perfect 10 demands a jury trial and damages and costs running to millions of dollars.

File-hosting service RapidShare has seen its request to have the case against adult media company Perfect 10 heard under German law denied. Perfect 10 has accused RapidShare of being the biggest infringing paysite of all time and earning revenue from its content, an accusation the file-hoster denies. The case will now be heard in a U.S. District Court next month.
