Being in The Pirate Bay team means you have a very busy life. Running the world’s largest tracker and dealing with raids and court cases leaves little time for anything else. But as usual, the Pirate Bay guys still make the time to update their fans on their plans to buy an island.
A little over a month ago the Pirate Bay crew announced that they were planning to buy Sealand, a micronation located just a couple of miles off the UK coast. Many assumed that this was an attempt to move their servers in order to circumvent copyright laws, but it now seems that this never was the plan.
Sealand is on fire. The self-proclaimed safe haven for everything that’s forbidden elsewhere suffered from a fire, probably caused by a generator. Firefighters attacked the fire from a ship, but it is unknown if they succeeded and what the damage is. Sealand and it’s hosting company havenco have no regulations concerning copyright, patents, libel, restrictions [...]
