]]> torrenttoThe former owner of torrent.to has been sentenced to 46 months in prison by a District Court in Germany.

The 33-year old Jens R operated the BitTorrent site between 2005 and 2008, and was found guilt of copyright infringement related charges.

According to the court the site was highly profit driven, with the owner earning tens of thousands of euros per month.

The sentence has yet to be made final, but Jens R was taken into custody after the court hearing because he is believed to be a flight risk.

Torrent.to, meanwhile, is still up and running.
