After 2 years of silence the controversial Bitlord client just rolled out a new version which is not longer based on the BitComet core. The new Bitlord 2.0 Beta is “Vista ready” and one of the first BitTorrent clients to include eDonkey support, thereby allowing its users to download from both networks simultaneously.

BitFox is a Firefox extension that aims to make downloading torrents “as simple as downloading a file over a HTTP or FTP connection.” Still under development, BitFox is expected to offer the kind of BitTorrent integration Opera currently has.

BitThief, the BitTorrent client that downloads torrents without uploading is spying on its users. Apparently the client is not only cheating on the BitTorrent community, it could also be a potential risk for the leechers that use the client.
One of the reasons people put down BitTorrent is because it can, at times, be slower than traditional protocols like HTTP and FTP. But the technology isn’t at fault, it’s the upload speeds of users that are capped, which prevents files from being shared more efficiently.
We all know that BitTorrent is probably the best way to transfer large files, but this doesn’t mean that one should increase the filesize because they distribute something over BitTorrent.
