Yea, just what I thought. She see’s hating labels and using bittorrent as a fad, and not really see what she’s doing. As she says “it’s just pocket money”. She aint got nothin to lose, only gain publicity.

If she really believed in just getting people to hear her music, she wouldnt have such a problem with spotify.

This is a different approach to previous ‘known’ (although, i have never heard of Billie Ray Martin before) artists going bittorrent. There is no direct buy/’support us’ call. Checked mininova and clicked a few random torrents and most seem to have an info without mentioning money there. There are links to the creators websites where it is ofcourse possible to pay/give money.

About spotify:
It seems like a logical MAFIAA strategy. Control something like spotify for which you take most of the income, then blame filesharing that their ‘supported’ alternatives don’t work.

If any service (created by MAFIAA) that actually works would appear and gets a 90% marketshare in time, it is sure that it’ll corrupt and then prices will go up fast.

yes their distrobution system would be amazing if the actual people and industry said fair enough we have killed your project by making you remove all your contents

so in return to show some faith we will start to add content legally from ourside to show everyone we not just about destroying communitys of years and years.

what have the industry done to help promote or help this new system? nothing zip, they destroyed a great site and community and now its dead they have not even bothered helping to at least keep it alive with legal content

It makes complete sense.. An up and coming artists will make way more dough releasing on BT and taking donations then signing with any label..

Just remember if you support spotify and last.fm don’t expect your favourite artists to get paid.. The industry keeps the majority..
