Come to think of it, if it wasn’t for bittorent i would of never known about pushing daisies (which i think is a great show)

These days most my free time is spent playing mmorpg’s so i don’t watch as much tv as i used to, so that means catching previews about new shows doesn’t really happen much.

this confuses/perplexes me, they complain about piracy and pre-leaked shows, they persecute those who download these then they expect the accused “pirates” to download a show without the fear of getting sued by the MPAA/RIAA etc…

I watched the first episode of Pushing Daises via Torrent and it does look great. The odd, dark humor with the storyteller narration combined with intensely saturated colors is like a lovechild of Wes Anderson movies and the Robin Williams movie, TOYS. Oh, and I just learned that the narrator is the terrific Jim Dale, who narrates and voices the Harry Potter audiobooks.

The leak was a sound move by the WB exec as a simple description of the series doesn’t do it justice (which I’m sure is also the “problem” with Wes Anderson movies). The crime-solving aspect should certainly appeal to casual CSI enthusiasts. However, I wonder about the staying power and long-term plots for the show as it seems so much is already given away in the pilot. After watching the pilot, it’s easy to imagine the full inventory of gags that can be built around Ned’s limited ability and the limits of his relationship with Chuck. Nevertheless, I really hope this show makes it big.
