The Patriot Act wasn’t sold as the “spy on our own people” act, it was sold as the “catch the EVIL TERRORISTS act”. A fire can’t melt a whole building perfectly evenly to cause it to fail at the same instant on every steel beam. Then a fake investigation.
How could they know who did it withing 3 hours of it happening ? 9/11 was a tool to get us to give the Gov’t more control of our lives. Now we did and look where it is getting us!

We are all in a police state being watched and made shure not to step too far out of line or be labeled and enemy combatant without even a trial. You are given a warning
or shut off without any evidence or a trial. It’s happened to me several times WITH MY INTERNET DISCONNECTED ! It’s also happened to many other people. Wireless is easy to hack and IP addresses are easy to fake. You can hack cable modems, connect to other phone lines, hack Wifi, use trojan horse, and on and on.

The MPAA are using scare tactics and most people cant afford a lawyer. Now you have to pay $35 if you say you are innocent to even discuss it !!! That’s part of their new 6 strikes program.

What happened to INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY ?

The MPAA is only about money, they are making record profits at a time they claim to be going out of business because of file sharing. Too many lies by the people with money and power.

People with money control the government by lobbyists AND therefore the people.

I did do this, and I found five pages loaded with it. This seems to be a tad suspicious in the Censorship Industry’s motives. To quote a most excellent old saying, “The louder a man yells that he’s honest, the tighter you have to hold on to your wallet.” The Industry is yelling very loudly…….

However, Child porn is not the center of this article, ladies and gentlemen. The center of this article is how the Censorship Industry uses it as its main argument for censoring other things, such a pirated files. While I agree completely that Child Porn SHOULD be taken off of the internet, I amend this with the firm and absolute belief that it should be taken off only after the hosts and those who upload it are hunted down. I most certainly do NOT want my nieces and nephews seeing such horrors, but I also do NOT want those poor little children who are exploited to be trapped because the world turns the blind eye to it.

Now, my opinions of child porn aside, let me discuss the censoring of file sharing sites. I personally applaud Piratebay, NOT because it is a center for piracy, but because they have surprisingly high standards on what they allow, at least as far as my knowledge is aware of. While yes, there are materials there that are illegal to share, Piratebay and other such renowned sites are the lesser evils. Isn’t it better to keep an eye on the thief you know, than to lock him up and have to look for the thief you DON’T know? What greater and darker things can replace those seemingly bad organizations once they fall?

Censorship has a time and a place, but it should be watched just as closely as File sharing sites are watched. The Censorship Industry borders dangerously close in comparison to the Patriot Act of the United States, which even after ten years is STILL being taken to court for violations. I firmly believe that we should keep the monitors of the Censorship Industry firmly in line, limit their power, and cut off any hope they have of taking so much as a baby-step in the direction of mass censorship.

These opinions are all my own, and I am quite glad to tell you all that I live in the United States where my right to speech has not yet been taken away, and hopefully shall continue to remain free. China took censorship into their hands, and are now ridiculed all over the world for it. Are we destined then to become hypocrites to our own values and beliefs of freedom? I certainly hope not.

I can only hope that a middle ground will be found between censorship and freedom of rights online. Until that day however, I wish you all a good evening.
