The IT-Crowd episode 6, the hype continues

Written by Ernesto on February 25, 2006

The IT-Crowd is a sitcom about Moss, Roy and Jen, the IT department of Reynholm Industries. The show was hyped all over the net even before the first episode aired.

Although the first episode was a bit disappointing, the show improves with every new episode that’s coming out.

And since TorrentFreak is all about torrents, and most of the drm-free copies of the it-crowd are spread by BitTorrent, I’m joining the hype. The IT-crowd, shows a great resemblance to most IT departments out there, located in the basement filled with a bunch of old computers and broken monitors.

Episode 6 is out there so grab a DRM-free torrent

Aunt Irma Visits: The arrival of Jen’s “lady time of the month” has unexpected consequences for the office. Jen’s in a bad mood, Moss feels weird, Roy bursts into tears, and even Richmond’s been feeling gloomy. The only cure is to have a big girly night out with scented candles and Dirty Dancing saves the day, before cutting a rug at the office party…

Ep2 was the only one worth watching. the rest have been passable at best. alot of our series are short because of funding issues, its also the case that our writers dont want to have to strain 24 shows from a handfull of plots :)

I do concede that this programme has got better since the first episode, but it is still rubbish!

If you really want to check out something good by Chris Morris then check out Nathan Barley. It is shot so much more creatively and you can tell that a lot more effort has gone into the script.

Seems to me like Morris only got involved with the IT Crowd to show that he could direct a show that pulled in big ratings after Nathan Barley went down so badly with the public – same as always, do something that is actually genius and it’s a commercial failure!

Definately check out Barley and avoid this cliche ridden drivel!!

DAN – Actually the IT Crowd stars Chris Morris, but Graham Linehan directs it (aswell as writes it).
I agree that Nathan Barley is a lot more innovative and subtle. There are sequences just a second long in it that must have taken ages to produce!
I was a bit surprised that Chris Morris should choose to join in something that stylistically was so far from his own work. But I reckon he was sufficiently amused to want to put his own stamp on it….

If you want to see Lineham at his best, check out Fr Ted.. or the really excellent Black Books
