Two years ago I bought a £350 Dell Inspiron 530s (brand new) just for casual gaming (WoW, CoD4 etc)

It has 3gb RAM and dual 2.6Ghz processors

When MW2 specs were announced, I needed to upgrade my video card. An hour on ebay and I had bidded on a new, sealed Radeon HD4650 video card for £35 – which I won. To accomodate it though, I had to buy a new casing. I got a half decent one so that was £50.

If I got the normal 530 desktop I wouldn’t have had to upgrade case and would’ve saved myself £50 on the actual desktop and another £50 not having to buy a case.

I now run MW2 on 30-50fps constantly on maximum graphics for just £420 on a machine that can also run PC exclusive games, browse the net properly, word processing, storing thousands of songs etc etc etc

In contrast, my brother spent that on a PS3 shortly after launch. And another £450 on a decent HDTV (30″+++) just to play games or slowly browse the net.
