Sounds more like a way to guarantee an income stream from customers who are buying anyway. Especially the ones who buy the software and happily use it without wanting or needing constant upgrades. At best, the rental model is the equivalent of forcing users to buy every upgrade, whether they need/want it or not.

Hopefully they’ll lose user base to very capable and free software like GIMP, which does virtually anything Photoshop can do, yet costs not a single penny, ever.

perpetual license or subscription. It’s licensed to you to use, they
still own it. If you don’t like the subscription because you don’t “own
the software”, tough shit, you never “owned” your copy to begin with, it
was licensed for you to use.

Point #2: 30 bucks a month or 50 vs paying thousands up front. Same price in the long run but it’s accessible.

Point #3: One time fee is all nice until you upgrade an OS
out of need and then find yourself unable to use that program anymore.

Point #4: If you don’t want to pay for it, your call. But looking at it from a
paying customers’ perspective Adobe’s starting to move in the right
direction…. of course not every software pirate gives a two shits
about price or payment model, some want “free” regardless… human
nature

I just looked at is for 20 seconds. I get the picture that it’s 24$ a month thing for limited access, so what can I do with it? Use photoshop as long as I pay this big prices monthly and after I cancel I have nothing I guess. Thats BS. They want to push fucking cloud crap! I don’t want a could, I want Photoshop or something and thats it, I not want to share all my stuff at adobes servers because I font fucking trust them. So Adobe I guess when It comes to me you are wrong, I can afford your product but I not want to. And also I actually have fun pirating things when it comes to stuff like this.

The reason Adobe charges for it’s programs is because they have features that a person needs to make money, enough money (if you put in the work) to be able to pay Adobe 50 bucks a month (why shouldn’t Adobe make money if you are making money with what they make) and still have be able to eat. Isn’t it wrong to make money from pirated things? So if we’re not in it to make money and just want to play around and make videos for Facebook or pretty screensacers to freely share with our many friends and family shouldn’t the free or cheaper (imovie, Gimp, Blender for 3d) programs should be good enough?
