Hollywood and the "selling aspect" of movies will only go away, if money (and access to it) to making them is completely revamped.
Even Kickstarted movies want your vote in form of money. Since people don't know what they want until the see it, you always end up with the lowest common denominator.

Or as Ford puts it: if you have asked people with horse carriages what type of car the want, they answer: I rather have a better horse and a better carriage. Innovation doesn't work that way.

People will create movies that sell, by every spin they possibly could make, until there is another way to give people the necessary resources to film what they really like. Only few very rich people can do that - and even Steven Spielberg needed 15 years for "Lincoln".

Just watched #4 - Grand Budapest Hotel - and I have to say really enjoyed it, a very different movie. Also started to watch Her, but gave up after 20 minutes.

With all forms of art, music, paintings, theatre, movies or writing, one's personal choice and opinion, often will not match that of others.

It's not really fair to label everything crap, as you so succinctly put it, just because it is not what you personally like.

That said, for me, and I am sure for a lot of people, many recent releases don't seem that good, but to simply label them all crap, may be a little unfair.

Just my 5c worth.

yeah, I'm gonna vote for a forgotten label... According to the article, unless noted, they refer to a DVD/BR Rip... Considering X-Men just came out like a week or 2 ago, I doubt there's a DVD rip out yet...

300: Rise of an Empire was crap, but no surprise there, the first movie was crap too.

Non-Stop was quite alright. Im a huge Liam Neeson fan. Not something you could watch more than once really, but not a bad movie really. Just nothing too exciting.

Ill probably watch Rio 2 sometime. First one was a pretty good movie.
