Paranormal Activity doesn’t deserve being so pirated. It sucked =)

second :D

Paranormal Activity links to the imdb page of public enemies, that’s not as planned I hope.

Paranormal Activity (DVDscr). That makes me a saaaaad panda :(

Nice to se Up doing well. It’s actually worth buying a copy, unlike the other crap (Moon excepted).

6 Oct 26, 2009 at 17:53 by knux

@1 And yet so many loved it…

Personally it surprises me that such mainstream films are up there compared to something stupid like Bob The Builder: Building Together which is the kind of quality crap that usually makes the top.

paranormal activity – really really sucked – looking through a voyeur camera for 1.5 hrs isnt a normal person’s game…

Moon is great, dont watch a trailer tho it gives to much away.

Well, I shall once again go against popular opinion and say that Paranormal Activity was great, but then I had the benefit of complete ignorance when I watched it… I did not “research” it.. I had no idea what-so-ever what it was about (other than what the title suggests) when I watched it, I thought it was based on actual events, after I finished watching it is when I “researched” it and discovered it is indeed a movie…
I think the actress was very believe-able as just a regular every day person (not an actress) being haunted…
Great Movie and I do recommend it..

I know why allot of you didnt like it… 1st, you already knew it wasnt real, 2cnd, because it wasnt real you expected much more hollywood “bells and whistles” (as they are prone to do)
he movie *is what it is* and the way it was done was perfect….

As for “The Tournament, BSG, Public Enemies” all decent movies, although BSG was a bit slow (sleeper-wise)

Like I said last week, LoL, GI – Joe is entertaining….

From that list, I am still planning to check out Surrogates (changed my mind from last week after “researching it”) and Moon…

HP, UP and Four Christmas’s are just not “my cup ‘o tea” as it were… LoL…

Paranormal Activity IMDB link is going to Public Enemies.
UP is a nice but a bit sentimental movie.

Link for ‘Paranormal activity’ is incorrect. Should be:

@9 I thought it sucked because:

1. Would any sane person actually try and antagonize (piss off) a confirmed demonic presence?

2. If the guy really had balls of steel that large, why did he scream like a little girl every time a door slammed or a noise happened.

3. They were both stupid in letting events go on and on, without doing anything.

This has nothing to do with bells and whistles. I LOVE independent movies and low budget stuff, but this one isn’t good. Really, it isn’t. The acting may have been good – yes – but the script sucked.

People simply don’t behave in that manner if something evil is haunting them.

Are you seriously telling me you’d stay in the same house if something was biting your girlfriend? Regardless of what some dude told you? Yet, they did.

Finally, if this demon was really everywhere, regardless of where they would go – why would it need to drag her to another room. That’s just silly.
The demon could have simply strangled the boyfriend and then had fun with the girl. But no, of course not, because then the movie would have needed intelligent twists to not sink.

Good acting
Good effects
Stupid lead characters
Lame story/script

All in all a rating of : Meh…

@12 – Fair enough..
Actually I enjoy intelligent replies rather than simply argumentative BS that allot of people tend to post simply because their IQ isnt quite as large as their shoe size…

Your perspective of “how people would act” is difficult to agree with, I have never been in that situation or known anybody that has..

My instincts tell me I would “haul ass” LoL.. like you are pointing out, but people are not so easy to “profile” sometimes, in short, everybody will react a bit differently from one another..
My thoughts were they remained there purely because of fear and that the person that told them leaving would do no good was somebody that they trusted to make judgement calls of that sort..

As for the guy having “balls of steel” and screaming like a girl when things go “bump in the night”… I think you would be surprised at how many people you know would demonstrate the very same contradiction, im referring to anybody you believe to have “balls of steel”…

There are always more than 2 sides to every coin, it really boils down to what an individual prefers and their own perspective of the events whether they like/dislike the movie…

@13 I agree with your conclusion. It’s great we can all appreciate different things, though some lack the ability to verbalize why ;)

16 Oct 26, 2009 at 19:24 by brizzl

Dunno about “paranormal activity”, I was still bored after 15 mins. Does it get better?

I liked “Moon”. If only the audio volume didn’t vary so drastically.

Goof: Playing Ping-Pong with 1/6 gravity of earth does not work.

17 Oct 26, 2009 at 19:31 by jemoer

@9

You thought it was real?
srsly?

Hate to break it to you but nobody “researched” that film it’s just that when you see a film about a demonic presence you can sort of assume it’s not real.

18 Oct 26, 2009 at 19:43 by craigspr

I agree with your conclusion for the movies

19 Oct 26, 2009 at 19:56 by Xcel

@17..

And there we have yet another perspective…

You may want to advise the Catholic church of your conclusions, since they seem to (obviously waste their lives) have more cases of “Demonic Activity” to investigate than they have resources to address them with…

Im sure that as soon as you “enlighten” them then this whole business of Demons,God and religion itself will be cleared up and we will all be able to get on with our lives, LoL

@ 15, True and True..
I couldnt agree more with that statement.. and it would be awful boring I think if everybody appreciated the same things.. That would make us all “Generic” instead of “Unique”

You can speak all intelligent and what ever about Paranormal activity but the bottom line is that, that movie sucked.

please can we have an article about Lily Allen at the Q Awards so we can tell everyone how much we hate her

23 Oct 26, 2009 at 23:06 by kenny_lex

Most downloaded is not equal to Best films or best quality; do not forget that. I like this list, but many times has I downloaded a film just to think, “Why in hell do folk download shit like this”?

24 Oct 26, 2009 at 23:16 by concerned guy

Paranormal activity is just another one of those independent films which a celebrity just so happened to see and like and now everybody thinks its cool, god damn it i hate that when it happens.

25 Oct 26, 2009 at 23:45 by valiant

For a movie with a $15,000 budget, I would say that it was an outstanding film. I’ve seen million dollar movies that drew less emotion than this film from its viewers. As someone posted previously, it is what it is, and if you can’t appreciate it for what it is, then I don’t know what to tell you, some people are never happy I suppose…

26 Oct 26, 2009 at 23:53 by redbaron

I haven’t seen Up yet (will see it in the cinema like all animation films :P), but from those I know, I would put Moon on the top (as quality). Hopefully it’ll be acknoledged from the fellows-pirates (Arrrrgh!) too. :D Surrogates’ awesome too. Harry Potter – cool. The Tournament – seen way better actions (especially when it comes to plot and actors’ performance). G.I Joe was cool but it’s more like Transformers – almost no storyline and TONS of effects. I’m glad though that lately some cool Sci-Fi films appeared. Was beginning to think that the guys from the world of cinema have forgotten us – space-pirates. :P

* “Up” is awesome. One of Pixar’s best IMO.
* “Surrogates” is overrated, but watchable.
* “Moon” is a nice calm movie. Seems to be inspired a lot by Cubrick’s “Space Odyssey”, which is good.
* “Harry Potter” is like “blegh” – 2:20 hours of nothing, filmed clearly just for money and to make people wait for next part.
* “GI Joe” is a pure Hollywood vomit. Extremely over-hyped, extremely bad acting, lame dialogues, lame storyline, some okay SFX, but really, Transformers are way better in SFX department.

I don’t understand one thing why people are so willing to get manipulated

Two movies with Ving Rhames on the top 10 list? Good for him he’s a cool cat!

30 Oct 27, 2009 at 06:52 by General Snus

I watched paranormal with no background and thought it might be real at first… until crazy stuff started happening that obviously wasn’t real. doh

31 Oct 27, 2009 at 07:52 by Anon

Up already has a DVD release, even though it’s only been in theatres for a couple weeks?

32 Oct 27, 2009 at 15:03 by Kickass_Sid

Paranormal Activity seems to be a real hit!

33 Oct 27, 2009 at 15:24 by visitor

HEy , you can find most of these movies on http://www.aXXoMovies.org ..they are aXXo quality !! High speed , best quality .

34 Oct 27, 2009 at 17:08 by Xcel

@33
I’ll ignore the fact you are “spamming”, LoL

Why would anyone settle for “Axxo Quality” instead of genuine “Axxo RiPs”?

Anyone that is a fan of Axxo can find the full library @ darksiderg-dot-com, also Axxo has a list of upcoming releases posted there…

Axxo is an active member at darksiderg..

Get the real thing Ppl, to many lamers taking credit for someone elses work…

Funny how most comments on these stories say it’s right to steal movies as Hollywood produces Sh!T?
How come peeps are downloading all these movies then?

Oh yeah to watch them so they can decide they are rubbish so they’d never buy them or watch them? The ultimate contradiction

36 Oct 28, 2009 at 04:32 by goddamn french

All the Up rips have french video and english audio.

Would be fine except some important parts revolve around a book which is in French.

Major fail on this movie.

37 Oct 28, 2009 at 11:15 by Think about it

Looks like Paranormal Activity is the number 1 downloaded and number 1 at the box office at the same time. There goes the movie industry lie that sharing hurts revenue. Looks like Paramount ought to be donating money to TPB.

38 Oct 28, 2009 at 19:47 by Anonymous

Not on the list, but I was disappointed with Drag Me To Hell.

39 Oct 28, 2009 at 21:24 by Anonymous

Paranormal = best

40 Oct 30, 2009 at 04:42 by Ninja

@ 38: I’ve seen the trailer so many times that even if I were a fan of horror I wouldn’t watch it lol.

Ppl say Up is very nice but the trailer really sucked.. Still, pixar animations are usually nice so I’ll take the chance and watch only on the cinema (instead of downloading, watching and then going to the cinema if it’s worth it lmao).
