Currently downloading The Girldfriend experience. Watch out for Sasha grey there. If you don’t know who is she, you must be d**kless or P**syless

I’m curious where you guys are currently downloading your stuff from.

Mininova’s decision to scrub copyrighted filed has limited my soure of downloads. The DVDrippers have all but disappeared in the past couple of weeks.

Where are you downloading your DVD movies from and which rippers are you focusing from?

demonoid.com
google.com?

Thank hibrid. Even if I check those well known web sites, the regular DVD rippers are not there.

It’s like they’ve all disappeared on mass …

Okay … let’s move the conversation along …

Which rippers are you currently downloading the latest DVD movies from?

11 May 19, 2009 at 06:10 by ju

@10 that depends who you call the regular dvdrippers

you dont PICK who you download it from, you take what is released by whichever group.

and yeh there is no telecine of star trek and im baffled a blog so heavily “in the know” about scene and piracy goings on can make the same mistake twice in a row, let alone forget to correct it the first time.

and even if there IS a telecine on some elitist bs site, its NOT the most downloaded and shouldnt be on that list.

Just saw Star Trek at the theatre this week; it kicked ass!!! Download it, see it in theatres, buy the movie, that was one hell of a good re-boot!

It’s a fair point to say that when the industry makes good films we will actually pay to see it.

Look at Star Trek, one of the big movies of this year, should be no. 1 on the list but a lot of people instead have choosen to see it down at the cinema.

Although… I thought cam’s weren’t allowed on this list?

14 May 19, 2009 at 09:42 by gooooshh

@13
It says above the list “All the movies in the list are DVDrips unless stated otherwise.”

Please note this part “unless stated otherwise”

Ah, I remember when this list was just DVDRips….who cares about the R5, cam crap?

18 May 19, 2009 at 11:53 by WTF

Jesus Torrentfreak, get it right. THERE IS NO TELECINE of Star Trek yet. There is a Telesync which is not the same thing.

Don’t you even read the article comments? This sparked a flame war last week because apparently a lot of readers don’t know the difference either.

If you read these comments, please correct the article to say Telesync and not Telecine.

19 May 19, 2009 at 13:06 by Crammy

@wtf, give torrentfreak a break u ungreatful c**t. you get all this information for free, and does it even matter anyway? i know the difference between them, but im not getting irate about it.. take it easy dude.

20 May 19, 2009 at 13:58 by Hypnotoad

Yeah, give the hard working writers a break:)
Telecine/Telesync whatever.

@Jambo.
Compare a cam to an R5 then make the same comment..R5’s can be superior to DVDRips. Quantum of Solace for example. R5’s are always worth a DL

huge diff between ts and tc

22 May 19, 2009 at 18:07 by Mh

You got to be seriously ashamed for these people(downloading those movies).

23 May 19, 2009 at 18:07 by Mh

You got to be seriously ashamed for these people(downloading those movies). Not because of the legality or not, but because of the movies.

24 May 19, 2009 at 19:45 by flashback

Seen. Horsemen and Valkyrie.
Not worth the time.
Not gonna dl any of these.

25 May 19, 2009 at 23:31 by #YLS#

@ 14/15

I can read durr, I’ve seen plenty of (R5) on the list, but as I remember the original system was that the list only included movies that were of DVD rip quality, e.g. R5 still being rips.

Like ok, I guess it’s not a problem but, I liked having purely the DVD quality ones as like most I don’t like cams, Telesync being ok. TorrentFreak only seems to add the cam and telesync movies when it’s a major film. I’m pretty sure Push should have been on the list ages ago as a cam version has been around for months.

26 May 22, 2009 at 05:49 by ---

Come on Torrent Freak, change it to the top 20 films. The top ten are always a waste of time :(

Sorted from worst to best:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cam_(bootleg)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telesync
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R5_(bootleg)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screener
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Rip
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BDRip

Imo stuff above telecine (CAM/TS) is junk.

Thanks to a screener, i was able to properly watch lord of the rings Two Towers at a time when the 2 franchise chains of movie theaters in my country decided to close business for 3 months in a stupid attempt to oust the president in a so called “national strike” (actually owners lock out)… They lost (in many ways), of course.

I might go to watch a movie in a theater per year, getting close to 0.5 (ie 1 in 2 years), and that was the movie i choose to wait for that year… I just don’t enjoy American movies much anymore, and rather play online games, read online, or do other things.
