5 May 25, 2009 at 16:55 by Donald rhinesfelt

6 May 25, 2009 at 16:58 by Tralala

Would be nice if they learnt the difference between telesync and telecine, as it is quite significant…

The Horsemen – more like horse manure.

I like Dennis Quaid, but am I glad I didn’t pay good money to see that crap in a cinema.

10 May 25, 2009 at 18:02 by Roflcopter

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecine

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telesync

They are NOT the same retards. A Telesync is a cam with direct (line) audio, and a telecine is a digital copy from the film reel.

15 May 25, 2009 at 19:40 by Izkata

This is the internet, saying “You’re wrong” and an insult gets you nowhere. If you want people to believe there’s a difference, you have to be the one to say it.

16 May 25, 2009 at 19:45 by lollol

You’d think Torrentfreak would know the difference between a Telecine and a Telesync really, wouldn’t you?

Obviously they don’t.

17 May 25, 2009 at 20:02 by myself

Pls fix Telecine (TC) to Telesync (TS) because it gets my hopes up every week, and after a quick search i realize that there is just no TC of that movie

Wiki:

Telecine (pronounced /?t?l??s?ni/, /?t?l??s?ni/, /?t?l??s?n?/, /?t?l??si?n/) is the process of transferring motion picture film into video form. The term is also used to refer to the equipment used in the process.

Telecine enables a motion picture, captured originally on film, to be viewed with standard video equipment, such as televisions, video cassette decks or computers. This allows producers and distributors working in film to release their products on video and allows producers to use video production equipment to complete their film projects. The word “Telecine” is a combination of “television” and “cinema.” Within the film industry, it is also referred to as a TK, as TC is already used to designate time code.

Telesync is one of many terms used by movie bootleggers to describe the source material used to make bootlegged copies, normally distributed in Video CD, SVCD, DVD or DivX/Xvid format. It is commonly abbreviated “TS”.

A TS is a video copy of the movie which was shot in a movie theater, often with a professional camera on a tripod in the projection booth, with a direct connection to the sound source (often an FM-band microbroadcast provided for the hearing-impaired, or from a drive-in theater). However, the true definition of Telesync would include the film being syncronised to the camera’s own frame capture rate (FPS) and shutter timing as done by television companies when preparing cellulose film for broadcast. Bootleg TS rarely, if ever, utilise this form of syncronisation which can lead to additional temporal aliasing.

A CAM is a video copy of a movie usually shot with a hand-held camera from a seat in the auditorium and uses the camera’s own built-in microphone to pick up the sound. Usually, the quality is quite poor.

A TS can be considered a higher quality type of CAM, that has the potential of better-quality audio and video.

As technology gets better, the quality of the telesyncs also gets better, though it should be noted that even the best telesyncs are lossy and will be inferior in quality to direct rips from BD, DVD or digital transfers from the film itself (see telecine). Although very few at the moment, some release groups use high-definition video cameras to get the clearest picture possible.

Everybody OK now?

hmm i’m alwas like whoaaa, “telecine of startrek is out!” only to find out that whoever is making this chart is a retard.

20 May 25, 2009 at 20:40 by Anonymous

TorrentFreak collects the data which means they also collect any fake data to so there might be a whole bunch of tc movies out there but none of them are real, either that or torrentfreak doesnt know the difference

21 May 25, 2009 at 21:26 by Up the Pirates

Its interesting that with all the downloading of X-Men Origins, you would think it would have done terrible at the box office … Well that’s what they were trying to say when the work print leaked.

Strange that it is the 3rd highest gross for 2009 (after 1 month) and well on its way to a place in the top 20 if not 10 of all time.

I am sure all the downloading cost them a number 1 spot … aren’t you..?

22 May 25, 2009 at 23:18 by 3

Damn, you got my hopes up for some TCs. I haven’t seen those in quite some time. Also it is sad that you don’t know the difference between TC and TS.

23 May 26, 2009 at 01:34 by Anonymous

TC =! TS >.>

HURRRR DURRR

24 May 26, 2009 at 01:38 by RIAA who

idk why people are crying about TS/TC.. everyone upset about it knows the difference so whats the big deal?

Wolverine – not bad, should of been better.

25 May 26, 2009 at 02:16 by Rob

Telesync is when you rig up a professional camera in the cinema and record the audio from another source. Telecine is transfering motion picture into vid form. So a camera in a cinema is telesync and telecine by definition! Just to clear it up for you cocky 15yr olds.

26 May 26, 2009 at 02:19 by Hate the haters

telecine of StarTrek IS out. and when you film in the cinema with a camera and a professional source for audio is both telesync and telecine. Correct Above

27 May 26, 2009 at 02:21 by Rob

I am a tard.

28 May 26, 2009 at 02:23 by Anonymous

Telecine is DIRECT transfer. Ie reading right off the reel. Not being projected to a wall and then recorded. Besides, most TS these days are just CAMs with line audio >.> (no TS were held to a higher standard back then, don’t just say ALL TS ARE CAMS HURRRRR)

29 May 26, 2009 at 08:19 by Anon

Haha! Telecine is not a telesync. lol.

30 May 26, 2009 at 08:20 by Anonymous

I’m surprised TorrentFreak editors apparently don’t know the difference.

31 May 26, 2009 at 12:22 by Maybe Rob

maybe by definition yes, but we are discussing release wise, not actual definition wise. Hell a CAM would be a telecine, since you’re transferring the video off the screen with the lens amirite? >.>

32 May 26, 2009 at 13:43 by duh

no

33 May 26, 2009 at 16:46 by Anonymous

To # 32:

Yes

34 May 26, 2009 at 18:44 by NastyBedazzler

This is the bitchiest group of people I’ve ever seen.

35 May 26, 2009 at 22:23 by negatyve

There are no telecines of Star Trek or Angels and Demons out. There are only telesyncs. The difference between the 2 is HUGE. Telesync is cammed video with synced line audio. The video of a telecine is from the film reels actually being run through a telecine machine and digitally captured. Telecines are also incredibly rare since the machine required to capture the film is extremely expensive and typically only available to people inside the film industry.

C’mon, you guys should know the difference.

36 May 27, 2009 at 04:44 by karu

OMFG I think TF doesn’t read their comments because if they did they would stop getting our hopes up EVERY SINGLE FUCKING WEEK

37 May 27, 2009 at 10:02 by Anonymouse

To # 33:

No
