SOPA/PIPA was not shelved indefinitely, it was just renamed to the Cybersecurity Act of 2012, then you’ve got H.R. 1981. They just split things up a little, rename it and bury it.

A law which allows the government to prosecute a club owner if someone is dealing drugs in their club was voted down but was later passed when it was buried as an add-on the Amber Alert Act. Don’t you see the connection between a club owner who must be responsible for everything anyone does in his club and kidnapped children?
