    R5 stands for “Region 5″, which is a sort-of-pre-release DVD (also BD?) that may not be fully mastered or complete with all extra material.

    The R5 marketing strategy from what I understand is to “beat piracy” by offering legal versions early. Region 5 contains these countries, where that strategy may be more successful than in the “western world”:

    India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Pakistan, Africa (except Egypt, South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho), Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea

       when they stop charging $25 for a locked-down disc that shows ten minutes of forced previews and warnings, and begin charging $2 for a download that allows me to watch it anywhere, a download which won’t be “obsolete” once the next disc player technology imposes itself… you have my word that i’ll start paying for things.

          most stuff ain’t worth $20, buddy. for movies more than ten years old, 1080p is way overkill. for movies less than ten years old, well, those are worth more like $1, thanks to Michael Bay. ;)

    Why call the headline “Top 10 most pirated…” and then say in the description “most downloaded..” Pirated or not is still a question, downloaded is a fact i.e change the headline..
