I have seen American Pie: Reunion and 21 Jump Street and they are both funny comedy movies that are worth watching.

Lockout and Project X I did much enjoy and Wanderlust and Safe House while not my preferred type of movies but I did find them to be ok.

American Pie is utter trash, made to cash in on the people who will watch anything that is churned out by Hollywood. I fell sorry for children who have parents that find that film funny.

Why oh who do so many crap films make it into the top 10 with a few being ok.

Look for films that are not all made by Hollywood, those with a low IQ who enjoy a film with no story or just another recycled story or even a remake of a remake…get a life…

Just out of curiosity, I’ve been wondering how some of the readers & commenters here obtain their movies and TV series. Over the last several years I’ve probably downloaded 9 or 10 movies via P2P, and all but one was sub standard or misslabeled as NTSC but was in fact PAL, which prevented me from burning them to DVD and playing them on a US region DVD player. I could watch them on a computer, but I’d rather watch DVD’s on my widescreen TV in surround sound. You never really know what the quality is until you’ve completed the download. Since 2003, My prefered method for getting movies and TV series is through Netflix, Redbox, borrowed from a friend or check out DVD’sthrough the public library for free. My library has over 2,000 titles, and if theres something they don’t have, they’re more than happy to order it for you. I prefer to make a copy of the DVD and even though the movie companies try to make their discs impossible to copy, they can easily be copied if you have the latest programs to disable the copyright protection.

    My question is this:
For this anonymous informal Poll, “Like” this post If you get most of your movies, etc., through P2P or torrents and you would prefer that somebody else did the work for you by obtaining the movie, cracking the copyright protections, converting the movie to one of several formats and then upping/sharing the movie through P2P (and of course this method is usually the only way to get hold of out of region movies).

If you would prefer to get the physical DVD, crack the copyright bullshit, analyze the disc and then burn the disc to DVD or copy the movie to a hard drive as an ISO file (or other format) then “Like” my next post. It would be interesting to know. Thanks.

Personally, I’ve been using my 500 gig WD “My Passport” external hard drive (smaller than a pack of smokes) loaded up with dozens and dozens of my current video torrents, and use the USB port included in every BD player to view.

The newer players will accommodate all the formats, too, including MKV.

        Come into the “now”, man!
Who has time to burn disks anymore?

    • Wolfie

Dude, You came 10 years too late to the party…  Sounds like you don’t have a clue how to download torrents….

      • ScrewEwe2

Don’t have a clue how to download torrents? What I was saying in my first post was that for quality reasons, I prefer to get the actual DVD’s and copy those because I can control the content and quality of the Rip. A lot of people are satisfied with downloading a 700 meg mpeg or avi of a movie. That’s a waste of my time and if I download a full dual layer DVD ISO or the VOB files labeled as NTSC and then find out it’s a PAL Rip, I’m pissed. Yes, you can convert PAL to NTSC and visa versa, but you get a shitty looking product. I concentrate on torrenting music and high end programs, not DVD’s and as far as getting to the party late, I’ve been into P2P for over 13 years. Some of the people on here who are in college were in elementary school when I started.

4,3gig of 720p file looks supremely better than an official dvd-disk that you buy and copy to a blank disk, purely due to resolution.
cost too much to buy a blank 50gig bluray re-writtable disk and copy over 25-50 gig worth of 1080p data, when its unnoticably different at a nice, compressed size.
plus there are more readily available that retail releases. MINIMUN 2 weeks before a retail release date, it will be released on the net

        • Rip like its 1999

Hey dude like a previous person said 1999 called, they want their post back. DVD rips have shit quality. You need a decent BDrip 1080p either full or encoded with x264.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NINJ2XQMX4V6VHUQWPPVLEYZI4 Smilin' Bob

Burned DVDs last only about 2 years.  Your collection will be junk in no time.  If you want quality, then buy the thing.

        • Rdrapcas

What the hell are you talking about Smiling Bob?

I have 100 of dvd(s) over 7 years old now (from the days when I was copying+burning movies from the rental video store), they all play perfect.

Then again I was using the best quality available and not crap like princo.

However, the last 2 years I use a few external TB hdd loaded with 1080p and 720p, just plug and play.

“You never really know what the quality is until you’ve completed the download.”
99 times out of 100, I know exactly what the quality will be as soon as I see the release name.

    • Paulo

look at the releaser, and will will know the quality. You don’t need to watch – let alone download it – to know how good it is, also, a lot of uploaders nowadays are putting a sample file on the torrents.

People who complain about quality are people downloading TS/CAM torrents.
