TV shows are by far the most wanted files via BitTorrent, and according to some, it’s fast becoming the modern day TiVo. But what are all those people downloading? Let’s find out, and take a look at this weeks “Most pirated TV-episodes” chart.

battlestarThe data is collected by TorrentFreak from a representative sample of BitTorrent sites and is for informational and educational reference only.

Top Gear is back on Sunday, so look for it to top the chart for the next month and a half.

Stewart and Colbert will move down the list once people realize that you can watch the whole thing on Hulu.

People, Colbert and Daily Show can be watched legally, in full on ComedyCentral.com … why are you still downloading it? ComedyCentral and their staff deserve the advertising $$$ for providing such great content.

Come on you guys.

Do you have any demographic details for each show? I’d be interested to know how many people download Doctor Who outside of the UK.

ComedyCentral and Hulu only work within the United States. So the rest of the world needs to download them and as it turns out there are a lot of people on the planet who don’t live in America.

I’m surprised. Steward and Colbert are almost daily shows, where as BSG and Dr Who are weekly.
I’d be willing to bet DS and CR drive more traffic due to sheer volume of programming.
Are these results tabulated to single episodes?

Hulu is US only but I think ComedyCentral works in the UK dunno about other countries?
