Top 10 Most Pirated TV Shows on BitTorrent

Written by Ernesto on November 11, 2008

TV shows are by far the most wanted files on BitTorrent, and according to some, it’s becoming the modern day TiVo. But what are all those people downloading?

heroesPrison Break is leading the chart with close to two million downloads for the latest episode only.

The data for the most recent TV episodes are collected by TorrentFreak from a representative sample of BitTorrent sites and is for informational and educational reference only.

Thanks to ShowInsider we now also include a list based on the total number of downloads (not only recent episodes) of all shows in the past week.

Last night’s episode of Terminator was great. Hopefully it will be on next week’s list.

I always say it but Dexter and Californication are the top shows on this list, along with Entourage.

Hero’s has sucked season 1 ended.

Prison Break bores me, if heroes was on last week it would have been top of the list as usual.

Yeah, Heroes Season 3 has really gone downhill – S1 & 2 were really compelling plots and direction but no more.

Entourage is brilliant, one of my favourite shows along with Dexter.

Stewie: It wasn’t even about the eggs, really. Frankly, I like the yolks. I have no problem. There’s always been a lot of tension between Lois and me. And it’s not so much that I want to kill her, it’s just, I want her not to be alive anymore. I sometimes wonder if all women are this difficult. And then I think to myself, ‘My God wouldn’t it be marvelous if i turned out to be a homosexual?’

Yep … Seth MacFarlane outed him. B a a a a s t a r d

None of these shows are community driven projects that use single, individual funds to realise their artistic vision in our culture. Therefore they all suck – they bring nothing of the artists feelings, values and life perception to the works. People and culture NEED a vision to follow, to be enriched with thought provoking talent, ideas and to be inspired to be culturally pluralistic. These shows SHOULD NOT be entertaining – people need to contemplate what they watch and be drawn into a community driven achitype and not let themselves enjoy this nazi, capitalistic, fascist entertainment of the masses.

The Pirate Bay sucks, it’s a slow piece of poop. It makes money for its creators which should be feeding peasants who cant find work. Again, it just sucks as a concept, a website and its really slow.

Surprised The Shield isnt up there best fuckin cop show thats been on TV (and torrents)

23 Nov 12, 2008 at 21:23 by Roze

@21
Of course I’m not. My views may seem stupid to many people (as that may very well include you), as they are quite contrarian, but I never intentionally try to look stupid, as many posts under the name “Roze” are quite obviously intending to look stupid. My opinion is that registrations will vastly cut down on the number of comments, so I don’t think it is a good idea. However, I think it might be good, if possible, to display some secret hash of the IP address. I think it might also be good to fill out some string somewhere, to undergo a secret hash, to be displayed publicly somewhere, in case one is the same person using internet connection from more than one IP address.

Hulu.com has all of the new prison break episodes… I am guessing people are downloading the old seasons??

26 Nov 14, 2008 at 05:35 by Ice

Prison Break should have been stopped in Season-3 only when they killed Sara but due to producer and channel’s greed they have come out with a season-4 which is practically similar to season-1 & 3 so prison break has really gone down the drain in Season-4.

I still think the downloads on http://www.oliv3r.net are much better than using P2P networks. They use Rapidshare, megaupload and load of other online hosting sites to download from and its much quicker.

Aaargh!!
Sons of Anarchy & True Blood!

Ok, just had to post my weekly annoyance of the lack of mention of these shows. :)

House/hereos/Prison Break/Californication/Entourage/Dexter

Would you believe, I’m downloading The X-Files. And I’m not the only one, since there are a lot of peers!

31 Nov 16, 2008 at 17:55 by Jade

Is the photoshopped pic deliberate?

32 Nov 16, 2008 at 21:15 by psyc

the shows are free over the air broadcast
so does sharing them over the internet really mean they are being pirated?

hmm
