Torrent Clients Compared
Written by Ernesto on December 11, 2005A week ago I tested the 3 most popular clients (Azureus, Bitcomet, and uTorrent) to see which of the 3 performed the best.
I tested these clients with the exact same setup and downloaded 3 torrents with different seed/peer ratio’s.
My overall conclusion from this little experiment was that, based on the transfer speed and memory usage, uTorrent is the winner followed by Bitcomet, and Azureus. Keep in mind that my little experiment was far from scientific.

Wikipedia has a nice article that compares a large collection of available torrent clients. But keep in mind, less is sometimes more. Things like cpu and memory usage are pretty important too.

Tried the same myself with azureus & uTorrent. On each occassion Azureus commenced downloading quicker & faster.
Where would science be without a debate ;-)
Naturally, uTorrent and Bitcoment are written in more native languages. Azureus is a java application, so it’s probably not going to run as fast.
I thing bit coment is faster then azerus but my freind has azerus end it works faster, en whe have the same internet conacion
Thanks Freak, µTorrent is very good.
It’s lite and easy and doesn’t eat my ram.
