Wow.. You guys are all idiots who do not know how to spell or punctuate. In addition, you do not know the very basics of Bit Torrent. You can't close down Bit Torrent-- that doesn't make sense. The MPAA *could* close down a number of Bit Torrent trackers, but that is all.

Additionally, Bit Torrent is not illegal. It is a perfectly legitimate method of downloading over a P2P network. For example, the Debian Linux Full Install is on two DVDs and takes up almost 7.5 Gigabytes. As a non-profit organization, Debian couldn't possibly afford to host these files. By providing a Bit Torrent tracker, Debian can alleviate this bandwidth, and instead place it on the clients. In addition, the clients can download faster than if it was on a traditional HTTP or FTP server.

Come on kids, grow up. Learn how to speak right. Do you even read your post before clicking 'Submit'? And for God's sake, if you are going to use a technology, then PLEASE understand how it works.

End Rant

Ill be honest.. I cannot stand
DVD or CDs. You even look at them the
wrong way.. and they are ruined.
Old VHS tape were more durable than
that technology.

I liked the torrent sites because
the media goes straight onto a
hard-drive. No skipping, cases that
take up space, ect. That is the reason
why the torrent sites are popular.

Is the MPAA going to give me movies
in a media format not half-arse put
together by Tiawanese 9-year old
child forced labor?

I'm amazed by the stupidity of thos MPAA guys.
1) There are simply too many things that give you a possibility to share files. There was BBS, there are newsgroups, emule, torrents, P2P, IRC, FTP...
Now include the possibility of borrowing a thing from someone is illegal. I don't think so, but... who knows with those greedy sh*theads. If it's illegal, then ALL mailing-programs, ALL web browsers, ALL Skype-like things, ALL Private-Messaging on Forums... f*ck it, let's sue the whole Internet, and more, the whole world, that's what you think, no? ;)
2) The piracy was born because of the high prices. You say that too high prices are because of the piracy. YOU LIE. It's the reverse.
To beat the piracy, the prices need to become LOWER. The higher the price is, the more piracy is here and there)
3) Suing search engines is a total blasphemy. They even remove coyrighted material, if the owner asks about it -- try that at Google or Yandex!
MPAA, if you know russian, go to page http://www.lleo.aha.ru/na ;)
