‘TorrentFreak TV’ is a biweekly recap of some of the best, most interesting or remarkable stories from the wonderful world of BitTorrent.

I love torrentfreak.. but im really sorry.. but I just dont enjoy this at all..
I know she is trying her best, and Im sure I could not do any better.. but damn it just really sounds like she has no idea what shes talking about and really is just reading back what she memorized or is reading in front of her… pleeasse stop drawing out your words.
When she talks, it just kinda blurs with the rest of what shes talking about.. and then every once in a while inserts a joke which is like.. wtf?
And OMG get rid of that music! Holy crap.. that was a VERY bad idea.
Also, dont hold those papers, mabye they were doing that to prevent her from doing all those crazy hand gestures.. but it would be better if she just sat like other news reporters do.
Really chick.. focus on delivering the news in an INFORMATIVE way instead of drawing out the words to be sexy with the odd glances and smirks..
Im sorry Torrentfreak.. hopefully this is just a rough start.. but damn if nobody will take this seriously if they are constantly distracted by her odd touches.. especially those boobs.. lol.
Watch alot of G4’s stuff, they have absolute MEGA hotties, like ATTACK OF THE SHOW.. yeah yeah you may not like the show or the network itself, but they are talented at what they do, give them that.

I enjoyed it and Ashley is hot!
Actually that was quite good, since it gave a “News on tv” feel.
Meaning it looked like it was done by professionals.
Also I suggest that you place the papers on the table instead of keeping them in your hands and in front of you, since they kinda give a feeling that you are hiding behind them.
Overall the show has improved :)
Also when looking at the top downloads you could add the ^ and v arrows showing that if the show went up or down in the top ten.
Epic… If this was on TV it’d be all i’d watch, but then i’d prob stop watching it and download it because I hate commercials…lol
1. Do not play music during the news, especially not the type you have in the background for this one. It makes the program seem hurried. The title sequence is fine, do not change it.
2. However you did the lighting in the previous episode, keep doing it like that. You seemed to be in the dark a little bit this time around.
3. As pretty as you are, we do not need to see your face 100% of the time: it’s just a bit boring. You should have a graphic and headline of some sort either to the left or the right of your face, and don’t be afraid to allude to a different screen for lists (such as for numbers, instructions, or others).
4. I’d suggest having a real background of some sort. The camera should show you sitting at a desk with a laptop or computer, and at least a black wall/curtain behind you. The monochrome TorrentFreak background is fine as far as a website goes, but not a news program: it distracts the audience.
5. You were dressed fine in the last episode, so I’d suggest keeping it that way. Considering this is TorrentFreak (and not a generic news program) you should dress casually, because it makes you seem more human. The tatoos bring emphasis to the counterculture nature of piracy, as well, so there’s nothing wrong with them considering who your audience is.
6. Slow down your reading. TorrentFreak deals with a lot of technical terms and foreign language, so this is understandably difficult. Still, if you don’t do so already, I’d suggest pre-reading what will be prompted to you. The fast reading makes you seem nervous, and while that’s fine here, it is something you should know for the future.
I still like this idea though, I miss TorrentFreak a lot during the week, so a summary is exactly what I need sometimes.
Commenter 15 here again with just one more bit of advice: if you can’t manage the more news desk type of reporting, then I’d suggest trying an Andy Rooney (from 60 Minutes) style of appearance (at a desk speaking the audience, but modernize your space with art, a computer, etc.)

For the love of god get a new anchor. That girl has no idea how to read the news. I had to tune out after 30 seconds.
The “girl” is fine, just needs some pratice is all (seemed nervous). I agree with just about everything #15 said. A nice graphic for each story to the right or left would make it more news like.

i stopped watching when pedobear came on. it brought down any authority you might have built up.
It sounds like Ashley could hear the awful background music as well, and is telling herself “Hurry! Hurry! I am in agony!”.
But then again, this is just a second episode, so my hopes are not so high up yet.

Actually, unlike a lot of people here, it seems, I actually liked the background music. As for Ashley, she seems to be sort of struggling to speak correctly and pronounce every sound of every word with equal diligence… which sounded awkward and is hardly a requirement for an informal show like this.

Keep trying guys, more practice and it will be fine, you should get a graphic designer onboard to setup some screen shots and such to post in the corner for related stories.
No offense is meant at all with this, but that girl is just not “hot” enough to be the only thing o nthe screen in front of a trippy badly chosen background.

Seriously: Maybe better try to find a (naturally looking!) balance between the “bad girl” design and the “creepy newsreader” attitude … and help her to try to avoid to “over act” - I think it would look best if she would just try to speak as speaking to another person - not over emphasizing things - and not overacting with guestures or facial expressions either -
maybe to be standing is better and helps to get natural movements into her body (when shifting weight). Keep the arms hanging at the side casually (!) - put a hand on a desk at the side (with papers if they are actually used!) or hook a thumb into the pocket of your jeans - and change position and standing now and then (meaning: every other time - not every 10 seconds either). Do not guesture more than you would when normally speaking to others - but don’t freeze yourself into rigor mortis either.
Maybe a compromize between the first and the second episode would be the nicest way to go!!! Both in looks and in guestures. Just don’t do any extremes.

Much improved overall from last week. In agreement with #42 ep 1 was far too ‘loose’ this one was a bit too ‘tight’.
Also try to differ the background and the cloths colours, black on black gives that floating head look

seems forced, like there’s some gun off scene i’m not seeing. last ep was more natural. the squinting and lack of facial expressions in this episode make it weirder.

It would be nice if this had more to offer than just a recap. I’m thinking maybe an interview once in a while or something that will make this stand alone a bit more, since now there isn’t really a reason why people should watch it if it’s all old news anyway.
ANd I still think it’s not interactive or visual enough, I mean, what’s the point of a hostess if I still have to read the TV Ratings of the screen? Maybe let her take us through the list globally next time ;)

pointless. kudos for branching out, but if someone is browsing this site, you have to think that they are well above this video, in the sense that the news is really old news. i guess maybe it’s catered to newbs.

Like the idea, but I’d:
- Get rid of the papers she’s holding, she’s obviously reading from somewhere else.
- Do something about that music, don’t use it all the way unless you have something extremely urgent and important to say.
Keep them coming, they’ll get better as they go, and you’ll realize what’s the best format with all the feedback you’re getting.

Honestly, Ashley has a great rack and, even though she didn’t jiggle once this episode, she should show them off - it’s not like we can grope her or anything. Who knows, it might even make her into an Internet Star - “Bittorrent News Chick With The Great Rack”.
And lose the music - sucked to hell.
I don’t like it. I don’t think the reporter is the right person for the position, and I don’t think the music fits in a good way. I like the idea, though. I think you should keep going.

A problem with the torrent. The folder said it was s01e01. Also, I agree with everything said here. Get into a different space, throw away the green screen, go andy rooney… And find someone else, or have her do like 15 reads of different stories and critique until it’s right. Have her watch everything she does.

I really enjoyed it and can’t understand why so many people are caught up on the things that they think aren’t perfect about the show (in fact I couldn’t think of one criticism I agreed with to any great extent).
I’d say to the critics:
* can you do a better show?
* have you ever bothered to make a show?
* do you look as good as Ashley? :-)
* can you present as well as Ashley?
* you do realise the show is free and is not going to have heaps of money behind it
My only criticism is I’d like the show to be longer and I’d like more episodes already. I was disappointed that I’d watched the only two and there were no more.
I could not believe the number of trolls in these responses — if you can do better then make your own show but I doubt you could because you undoubtedly spend so much time being hypercritical of others.
I thought there was nothing wrong with Ashley’s delivery whatsoever — I thought it was a little quirky but in a good way.
I just hope the show keeps being made and stays much the same — I don’t think the critics in this thread would be satisfied, whatever changes were made.
And to the critics who want someone other than Ashley on the show, you need your head read — Ashley is *H*O*T*.
