by the way, for those unfamiliar iinet is pronounced "eye eye net" not 'enet'. I would know, I'm Aussie and they are my ISP.

Hey, I'd smush it up. But she'd have to prove that she knew what she was talking about in the episode.

Maybe every time she says "RIAA" or "DMCA" she should take off a piece of clothing.

I would say to the black girl, "Well I really hate you. Enjoy your burnt, pirated CD." :D

not bad at all, considering you probably have a rather small budget for it.

the one thing that bugged me was the TV shows rating slide.
the first rule of broadcast is "never a moment of silence". there's a reason newscaster just keep yammering on even when there's nothing to say. it's just awkward otherwise.
so if you want to keep it as a regular segment you must write some background commentary, which could add substance. if not, you'd better cut it all together

Wow, this time I'm not the only one noticing Ashley's peculiar pronunciation. I'm getting used to it, however, and the show is definitely improving. Still, I tend to miss the background music and Ashley seems to look better when she doesn't try to be as close as possible to a classical news announcer. She seems to be better off as she were in episode 1.

Well done, I also think she should be more professional and state who she is in a tone that is not expecting we know. Also it would be great for her not to making statements sound like questions. Ashley You are the godess of reporting news about file sharing, I want you to sound like a queen. Queens rarley ask questions and when they do, they sound like direct statments.

"@Joe I was referring to the guy who uses a really old firefox or old internet explorer, as someone else said the comment numbers change, I would have referred to you by name otherwise."

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with the comment systems quirks.

Cheers.

Andrej, it's spot-on for me now. No problems streaming it in throughout. I can see the quality is diminished but it's not an issue at all; it's still perfectly watchable. Maybe a touch framey (looks about 10fps or so?) but it's sound enough.

Nice work all.

"Originally the site was trying to play a 247MB mpeg4 video with a resolution of 960×540"

F'in hell fire, no wonder it croaked here, LOL… :D

Aw. Can you teach her how to read properly, in a way that she talks to the people watching it?

She seems to talk to herself. Makes it boring. The news is interesting, but the way she read almost made me sleep.

"New features yes, and thats to be expected. If firefox runs slow on your computer, you need a new computer. Period."

I'm using an older version of Firefox as well, on my 1.8Ghz ssystem. Opening the history sidebar takes at least 20-30 seconds, and that's with the history set to only 7 days. When it was set to 30, the sidebar would take a minute or more to appear. Even after it appears, scrolling the history list causes the whole browser to freeze up for several seconds at a time. Strangely, opening the bookmarks sidebar is instant and I have more bookmarks than history links.

If I leave any program running, but unused for 30 minutes or so, when I bring the window to the front, there is a 10-15 second delay while Windows reloads it from the swap file. If I leave Firefox sitting idle for 30 minutes and then brong it to the front, it takes a good 30-45 seconds for the window to appear. It's not functional at that point though. Clicking on any menu causes another 20-30 second delay. Select one of my bookmarks and the browser freezes for another 20-30 seconds before starting to load the page. Once the page starts to load, there's another freeze before it starts to render the page. Even after the page appears, you can't click on anything because Firefox has to reload even more junk off the drive. It's faster to just kill the existing copy of Firefox and reload it from scratch. I admit that my 512MB of RAM isn't exactly state of the art, but Firefox is the only program that goes off into limbo like that.

"@ #30

I can’t even begin to imagine what I did to offend you."

The comment numbers change as various comments are deleted or added (apparently).

"Damn, what bitrate is that video at?"

I think Ahley is doing a fine job.

The only criticism I have about thist latest episode is the ticker that played during the "street interview". It was a little distracting. I would have positioned the ticker during Ahley's interview (if at all). I would have also timed it to run a little slower.

Just a little positive criticism :)

Looks great and has a lot of actual content! Great job guys, especially Ashley and the street reporter - I'll miss those lovely, lovely, bouncy boobies but Ashley's presentation is much better now.

BTW, I really do miss the lovely boobies, she has a great pair and they do deserve some air time.

I'm going to try and say this in the nicest way possible,

This would be much better with a different host.

She sounds like she should be on spring break instead of reporting.

I found this episode to be the most interesting and entertaining one so far. Very well done!

The on-the-street interviews should be only with people who use the Internet, so I agree on that with a previous poster. Like most people, I would tend to discard any opinion given by someone who has no idea of what it is they're being questioned on. Simply a waste of time.

Ashley is great -- she comes off as real and not like the phony hosts of your average newscast. Why anyone would want just a "talking head" sans personality is beyond me.

Keep up the good work!

Hey,

About the huge download times for the flash episodes, we are looking to it. No idea right now why it downloads the big file instead of the compressed flash version.
