Using a TV show as an example is almost laughable… even the cast, crew and creators of many shows treat the file-sharing/download of their shows as being okay.

And many downloaders consider broadcast TV different to other mediums (movies, games, music, dvd etc) as file-sharing of TV shows is just like recording of a show to share with friends, just on a larger scale.

And even when torrent sites where getting shut down heavily… tv exclusive sites seemed to be ignored.

I don’t live in Australia so this isn’t much of an issue for me but I do play with several people who do live in Australia in online games. These people are forced to either download and watch the show before it airs over there or leave voice chat whenever we start talking about the show. Its not fair to force them to leave something they enjoy and hinder their ability to communicate with the rest of us because HBO doesn’t release the show over there till WELL after it airs here in the good ole US of A….. Fix the distribution of the show and you will fix the issue with people pirating who would otherwise pay to watch the show. (Hell most of them subscribe to HBO and pay the monthly fee for that and still get screwed into waiting…. if I was paying and had to either dismiss myself or ruin the show with spoilers I would illegally download as well…..)
