Might be worth creating dynamic web sites that can migrate or have “silent mirrors” of content, so if one site is shutdown by the Take-Down-Dogs , the content “self heals” to another site & DNS changed accordingly.

Also worth publicising this activty by the take-down-dogs so everyone knows their freedoms are threatened….

My guess is the sheep dont really understand..if you said the take-down-dogs were going to take away all TV content and sports viewing, you would have riots… how ironic…..

When law enforcement engages in a legal crack down on any level they always use that as an example to other would be offenders. They went in shut down the servers and the cats out of the bag. They can comment on that action without giving up information that would compromise an on going investigation. So why wouldn’t there be some kind of statement? This could be an exercise intimidation. If this was a legitimate operation then they are bumbling idiots. If I was running a government operation that was covert I would kill two birds with one stone. I would do the deed and accomplish my goal, and then make it look like I was cracking down on piracy. Just remember When ever the government operates in too much secrecy it is the rights of we the people that suffer. The fact that they feel that they they can do something like this without the flimsiest of excuses for an explanation smacks of arrogance. Can you spell tyranny?

Grew up with TV sponcered by the advertisers, now the satilite’s taxpayer put into space are no longer public domain so they government can get tax revenue and lobbyist money! The same telephone polls the taxpayers payed for which must go before the utilitie’s commisition for a raise in electric or phone, now the cable monopoly’s again get a free ride. I used to be able to record from myu record albulm onto cassette my favorite song so I could listen to it in my car. Now wrapped up in the new health care bill is who gets what funding toi what school, what has that got to do with healthcare? It amazing a country that went to war over a increase in a tea tax stands bye and watches us being bleed to death by incompetence and greed.

I want to acknowledge SUPER’s comments on here as being correct as I see them.
Everyone that claimed it would be no different whomever was President, are probably right. BUT give the Tea Baggers a majority and see what happens – Real Change you can believe in. The Congress are the culprits here. (most of them are lawyers)

You go to the library and check out a book (it is not your property) after reading it at home you share it with a friend (he did not check it out). Now if you do not return it to the library, do they shut the library down or slap you with a fine? What about the friend; if he is illegal does he get a pass?
This is the allegory of file sharing.
The copyright pirates are in Hong Kong and other off-shore locations that rip off works and sell the fakes. The U.S. has been unable to stop the copyright pirates so they target file sharing on U.S. servers.
The copyright laws are bogus and should not extend on music and books for more than 14 years AND on software more than 5 years.
We could use some laws against corporate lawyers that make them personally liable for instigating frivolous, nuisance suits in copyright matters.
IN FACT lets just hang all lawyers and be done with it.

Wonders why the authorities are doing this? Did the holders of the copyright serve cease & desist notices on these sites/persons?

Copyright belongs to the holder of the copyright and only they have the right to choose whether to enforce their rights or not. Copyright is not lost simply by non-enforcement. A copyright holder may choose to allow one site/person to use his work (free or licensed) and can sue another site/person for the same exact use.

Ok, so a terrorist lives in my neighborhood. Instead of arresting the terrorist, the government is now going to come in and arrest everyone in the neighborhood and charge us with the same crime.

The constitution no longer matters a rat fuck…its all about protecting corporate profits. I am all for companies making a profit, but when does protecting profits involve shutting down an entire web server where 99% of the sites are perfectly legal?

I’ve been becoming more wary of government intrusion in the last few years…it appears to be accelerating.
