All the before mentioned industry associations will be propt up by a failed business model.

Someone should tell them, it’s not about the numbers, it’s about the vision.

The industry will be one of portfollio artists, self-publishing and generaly cutting out the middle-man and, that means you the industry associations.

These artists will have economies of scale if there work is good enough, long gone are the days where an artist can ride the back of a mass marketing campaign and, sell a load of phiffle.

Your music is your marketing campaign.

You get these artists, giving it the big-un, going on as if there the trendy dog’s schalackers, “I’m from the streets”..(rock-stars, home-boy’s)…but when it comes down to it.

They make there pact with grasses, who will shop there own followers to the old bill….that’s not gangster…that’s not real to the streets.

we don’t need to organize. more and more people are not listening to the radio, MTV doesn’t play any music, the records the majors want us to buy are getting worse and worse, being made for some theoretical person that does not exist, driving sales down. All the while, people are turning to indie labels and bands that do everything themselves.

Personally I dont infringe anything. Everything I download/seed falls under the fair dealing provisions of the canadian copyright act. If you cant accept that their are laws in many countries to protect citizens from extortionists like yourself, than maybe your the one lacking intelligence.

How can we really be better decentralized? What can guerrillas do? How can guerrillas win over people in government? How can guerrillas become more successful in pushing an agenda? Unity in a social and political movement is key to its success. Without unity, there can only be failure. Even guerrillas need some unity, however decentralized it is. What ultimately needs to change is policies in government, and that cannot happen by “guerrilla warfare” alone. Unless people are prepared to do drastic things in this “guerrilla warfare” – like make public denunciations, make public demands, stir people to action, engage in civil disobedience, and go to protest meetings, then nothing will happen. Without unity, there can be no successful political or social movement. After all, a successful political or social movement is defined by what unifies it.

Answer me, all of you who know:
What are our (the file-sharers’) hopes and dreams? If we have hopes and dreams, do not you all think it would be best to unify them as well? Do not we also wish to influence decision makers in government? Shouldn’t we also be trying to win over influential people in government?

Answer me, all of you who know:
What shall our (the file-sharers’) manifesto be? What shall we call for government to do? When shall we start issuing this manifesto?

I think that these are important questions. The music industry have already set X, Y, and Z as goals. What goals do we have? What are we doing/will do to achieve them? Surely, without thinking about these questions, nothing will get done on our behalf.

As I have said, if the Music Groups are going to launch an umbrella organization/coalition, is it not about time that P2P-users also unite under an umbrella organization? Something needs to be as a counter-weight against this. Perhaps much of the nonsense will stop once this happens. What is most important is for pro-file-sharing people to unite. Only then can something REALLY positive happen.

Internet piracy sure is providing a lot of jobs for people. Look at all these groups that have employees working to stamp out piracy. the thing is, if piracy goes away, they all lose their jobs. So they don’t REALLY want it to go away, just sue a few people/children/deceased corpses, so that they can get their paychecks (which i bet are rather large).
