And it continues… Everyday there’s a new headline about the UK shutting something down, or going to court to shut something down. I suggest the good people of England get themselves VPNs, or perhaps learn how to use proxy sites, or get the torch browser or tor. Don’t think it’s going to get better for awhile.

this whole action is illegal under british law.

the british government cannot seize a domain held in dutch territory aka .sx (saant marten is a dutch island in the carribean). But they said they can inform other countries to do so. Looks like the Dutch Government and BREIN were working with them.

They have proactively misinterpreted the law (magnet links and torrents are not direct download links – the files and data from those two does not express or expose any art/content. File integrity meta-data and a list of trackers does not equate to content and this is something the “City of London Police” have disregarded in their efforts to intimidate and harass at least one torrent site operator that I’m aware of.

Regardless of what powers they have, their modus operandi demonstrates they are little more than bullies operating for the interest of the wealthy and powerful in London’s financial district.
