Pardon me, but you're the one who needs to "man up" and learn to read.

This is what my original comment about PGP and Phil Zimmermann said:
-=-
<strong>"Encryption licenses?

Lot of good that would do -- see "Phil Zimmerman" and "PGP."

I don't think people (The Internet) would put up with that at all.</strong>
-=-
You are the one who brought up the conspiracy -- not me. I merely linked to Zimmermann's own page. I said, <strong>"Conspiracies are irrelevant."</strong>

What part of the above do you not understand?

I posted Zimmermann's page so people could read of what YOU were talking about. If you have something which disproves anything Zimmermann said there, then you should post proof of your allegations.

I hope no one holds their breath waiting for that.

But here's a clue for you: The source code for PGP has been published many, many times. If there were any "backdoors" or such, they could be found.

The case against Zimmermann was dropped in January of 1996. While no reason was given, it has been shown that the ITAR (the munitions export law) as being full of ambiguous terms, over-broad definitions and just plain constitutional violations.

You may want to read the following link (but you don't have to if you don't want to), it's so you can understand that the government would have lost their case against Zimmermann had they proceeded.

[PDF]
http://scholarworks.gsu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2264&context=gsulr

<strong>A professor of law has stated that the right to "speak" cryptographically is protected by the U.S. Constitution as much as "the right to speak Navajo.... The government has no particular right to prevent [someone] from speaking in a technological manner even if it is inconvenient for them to understand. It is therefore essential that any governmental restraints on rights as fundamental as free speech or the right to practice one's chosen profession advance a compelling interest, given the worldwide proliferation of good cryptographic software in the public domain. [...] and that the ITAR is constitutionally vague.</strong>

Zimmermann had no reason to put a backdoor in PGP. Period!

And finally, there is an alternative GPL version of PGP called GNU Privacy Guard (GnuGP or GPG for short). Here is a link to a video tutorial on how to use it created by none other than Edward Snowden himself as confirmed by Glenn Greenwald.

[Do you understand the implication there? I hope so.]

-=-
As I said already, encryption doesn't belong to the government any more and hasn't for quite some time now. They may not like it, but that's just the way the Internet works and should work and will likely always work.

But here's the truth and the bottom line: I don't abide "truthers," "birthers," FOX News, "chemtrail" and "Illuminati" idiots.

If you choose to be in that camp, it's not my problem -- it's yours.

Why don't you man up and admit that you're trying to weasel out of your original position? Your so-called "point" was that Zimmermann was not a stooge and PGP does not have a back door (hence your links and image).
