i have also found this statement so true i did the exact thing with dirt 3 originally i pirated it but a week later it became really cheap on steam so i snapped it up

It’s “oh-so-brilliant” remember your hyphens, if your computer is reasonable and you don’t use the bloatware that is Norton, it won’t be a major performance suck, and if you’re not an idiot, you can avoid viruses without any antivirus at all (except, you’re a pirate so you have to check those game rips don’t you?) and you gave up with Windows because of Vista, which is unanimously agreed to be a horrible OS?

Really, try Windows 7 as a gaming rig. It supports DirectX 11 (let me know when Linux gets that) and it isn’t plagued with Vista bugs. You didn’t give up at the epic fail that was Windows ME since you used Vista. With every epic fail from Microsoft since Gates left, there has been an easily useable OS (both XP and 7) to follow shortly thereafter.

Spoken like a true butt hurt pirater. The funny thing is, Steam is such a useful service and non-intrusive form of DRM that hardly anyone realises it’s there, unlike Games for Windows Live or similar which just sit in the way and despite providing networking capabilities sucks major hairy balls. It’s a networking, self updating, free gaming platform.

Ever since Steam came out i’ve never pirated a video game and with such consistently impressive game sales of up to 80% off major titles you can’t even argue price when you pay £3.49 for a current generation game.

If you don’t have an internet connection then get out of 1962.

Learn to Dual-boot n00b! My main machine is a macbook pro and I play a couple of windows games (in windows) on it. If you’re not going to use Windows as your primary OS, you’re going to have to expect to dual boot it some time in the future to use some kind of Windows-only software.
(With the exception of people who use their computer for very specialized things, and don’t install software often.)
