Ashwin Navin, CEO and President of BitTorrent Inc, talks a little about the history of BitTorrent, from its creation in 2001 by the unemployed engineer Bram Cohen, through to its strong position today in 2007.

From its humble, non-commercial startup in 2001, BitTorrent achieved 15-20 million users by 2004. Hear a little bit about how it got there from Ashwin Navin, ex-Yahoo Corporate Development guru and now, CEO and President of BitTorrent Inc.

are you kidding? “he commited this great crime’ what an idiot. he would have nothing to commercialize right now if bittorrent hadn’t been free and spread.

lsdiats, he was being sarcastic.. people misalign cohen for committing a crime in creating a P2P filesharing tool, but navin is cutting that argument at his knees. how can someone be a criminal for giving away a piece of code?? its freedom of speech.
