I’ve been a member of What.cd for about three years now, it has been nothing but AMAZING.

I don’t understand how everyone here gets off on bashing the What community as “arrogant” or “pompous”. Every question or problem I have had on the site has been addressed quickly and politely by both the site members and the staff.

Unless you are a mouth breathing retard it is simple to maintain a decent ratio. I don’t understand how people can complain about this aspect of the site. Having everyone maintain a decent upload / download ratio insures that most everything will be seeded and that download speeds remain fast.

If you were on What.cd and got banned then that is your fault. The rules are simple and laid out for everyone to see. If you have never been on What or even a member of another private tracker, don’t bash something you know nothing about.

I used to be all about public trackers before I got an invite to What via my friend. Since experiencing the benefits of using a private tracker, I couldn’t imagine going back to public.

But that’s just me.

With the recent mass walk-out of most of the older staff members at What, you have to wonder how long they’re going to be around anyway. I smell drama afoot!

The staff that I have dealt with have been very professional and more than reasonable. I had my account disabled and they gave me a second chance because of my honesty. The staff do a great job considering they have to monitor forums, uploads, ratio cheaters, donations, server-side issues, coding, and site events.

1) There is not “ample variety” on either of those sites, and they are both public trackers, prone to malware, bad quality files, etc being uploaded.
2) While more seeds usually means faster speeds, how many of the people on public trackers even set up their routers and clients to be connectable? Furthermore, nobody uses seedboxes on publics and Demonoid. Speed is always decent, and usually maxes my 1.8 MB/s DL speed.
3) I have seen both Demonoid and KAT, and their organization does not even come _close_ to What’s. w.cd isn’t perfect, but it’s much better than those sites. They don’t even have artist pages, how can you say they’re just as organized? Besides, you haven’t even _used_ What. How can what you’re saying have any weight at all?
4) Please point me to a site that has more than 1,031,313 music torrents, more than 467,351 albums, more than 367,953 artists, more than 213,827 perfect FLACs, and a seeder/leecher ratio greater than 52. Need I say more?
5) While it was originally a “child” of OiNK, it does its own thing after 3 years in operation. It has Gazelle codebase, the Ocelot tracker, and has far surpassed OiNK in content. OiNK wasn’t as great as you seem to think compared to What.
6) You want a torrent site to die? Great team spirit there. I’m really feelin the love from the BT community.

You really need to shut your mouth. You obviously know nothing about What, as you have never even used the site.

They might want to try using Dwolla. This service only charges $0.25 per transaction and money can be sent via email. I’m not sure how quickly this company would comply with demands from Hollywood though.

There is an ample enough variety on Demonoid, let alone even Kickass. Take a look for yourself.

Furthermore, anybody with half a brain knows more Seeds equals a consistent and fast d\l. You have obviously not been to either of the forementioned sites if you think organization is an issue.

And to to simpleton i7x:

I never said I was a member, nor do I want to be a member. Plenty of other torrent sites as well as direct download forums have everything What.cd has and then some.

Please stop trying to act like what.cd is some sort of music heaven. It is merely a bastard child of Oink and wil forever remain so. The reputation y’all think y’all have is merely a fueled by your own blindness to the obvious…. Do us torrentfreak readers a favor and die off along with the rest of what.
