Universal Music Group, the largest label in the world has been suing Grooveshark since Jan. 2010: http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/01/08/UMGvPirate.pdf . This will likely determine the fate of the serivce, as will the Senate's decision in September on Bill S9.78, which categorizes streaming of copyrighted content into the same felony category as downloading. Grooveshark is a great service, however it faces serious consequences for its business model which promote unfair competition due to competing with other music streaming services that actually pay the licenses. Grooveshark does pay EMI royalties, but the majority of their library is unlicensed and they make profit from it.

YouTube is also being sued by Viacom, and won the initial round: an appeal is in process: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viacom_International_Inc._v._YouTube,_Inc. These two cases are very similar and their results will significantly shape the future of copyright law.

Have been having similar problems, I think its a temp ban from grooveshark. After about 5 albums, it cuts out. Can't access through grooveshark.com either.

SUGGESTION: Proxy option? Some way to counter the ban.

That's the thing about this app; it doesn't need any users to work. It comes straight from Grooveshark, which means no malware, fast speeds, and safe IPs. It's a brilliant little app; it's been successful for me so far. It's similar to stripping content from youtube; as long as its hosted, you can download it.

Looking for a seebox? or perhaps wanting to move to a new place cause your current provider is charging too much? Check out Pulsed media...

http://pulsedmedia.com/clients/aff.php?aff=006

They have a ton of different options. Both 100mbps and 1gbps servers. And, they dont get all their servers from OVH like a lot of resellers, they get servers from many different providers to always have the best and fastest speeds. Currently they have a 1TB HDD, 2GB ram server for only 21.95€/Mo, unmanaged! And with your choice of OS!

They also have a starter version with 70GB HDD, 250MB Ram unmetered for only 11USD a month as well as a 8TB hdd, 8gb ram server for 150 USD a month!

Check them out...

OK, so in summary, we have Groovejaar to download high quality MP3 froom Grooveshark. We have YoutubeDownloader for downloading 10 minutes of video from Youtube.

is there something like the above for software? I need Adobe CS5.5 (and don't tell me to buy because I afford it nor do I want to risk downloading from torrent).
