One thing we see in life is how the car company cried and wine about losing money over gas car's and shut down gm when they made a different type of car. The same will come to the mpaa it only in time when there no way of finding pirates and mpaa drop's like most car company's did. let hope that the people don't hand over any more cash to help them out or become so in the red tape that they can't rise again. Let face it in about 15 25 maybe 30 years left for movies music life left. The tech world will not sit back and say to mpaa we wait for your back side they will i hope raise the price of use on new tech that mpaa can't pay the price or leave mpaa in it old format of how they make music and video. human's are getting closer to where the holodeck is real life. Then mpaa will be just part of history that some government's and the world wish to never here again.

Now let me sort this out in my head.
Kim Dotcom, notorious international criminal was raided by American and New Zealand special forces and his criminal computer empire was closed down,
With regard to Kim Dotcom and Megaupload, the MPAA is considering its options for filing a civil lawsuit

The word here is "civil", and only considering it's options?
I am no great supporter of Kim Dotcom, and I have never used any of the services he offered, but I watched with considerable interest the unfolding events that culminated in the raid on his home, however I am outraged at what I see as an international abuse of civil rights.

The American government and it's cronies launched a full scale military attack on a private citizen at the behest of an american corporate organisation?

That in itself is worrying.

What is more concerning is that now, 2 years on , after completely nuking what is increasingly becoming apparent was a legitimate business no criminal charges are being put forward and the latest offering is that there may be "civil" charges.
Wow.. despite the fact that hard drives were illegally exported to the US and the American government has been steadfast in it's refusal

to return users their own personal legitimate data, the only charges that may arise will be civil?

So not one, but two governments took part in what was a full on SWAT attack on a private citizen. Two National governments were prepared to do this because basically a trade association told them to, because, hell lets get our government puppets to do it, it's cheaper
