9% of France’s internet users are pirates… So that means 91% are not. 9.1 people out of every 10 are going to buy a ticket for the latest blockbuster (assuming everyone in France is connected to the internet).

IMHO, with those numbers, if they’re claiming possible bankruptcy, I don’t think pirates have much to do with the income loss… Maybe le Hollywood should consider upping the states and producing something a little better than say Ghostrider or Battleship…

And if warnings don’t lead to significant additional sales, really what is the point?

the point, along with “the message” the article alluded to is to educate through neolithic legality and force a population to accept that they can no longer share what someone wealthier than them can otherwise make money from. the very reason this is a global initiative is because sharing came first, then it was called illegal downloading, now it’s called stealing. the internet and laws of the 90′s were much different than today.
