These people have no idea what they’re talking about and neither does the judge that agreed. They say there were thousands of peers in the swarm and are holding this guy responsible for all of these thousands of lost sales. That means they’re assuming he uploaded 100% to each of the thousands of peers and that’s not how it works. He may not have even uploaded 100% at all meaning he didn’t upload a single copy to anyone.

Malibu Media found that the IP-address registered to Sagala was used to share several X-Art movies and asked the court to award $40,500.00 in statutory damages. A bargain, according to Malibu Media, who claim that the real damages are even higher.

Well, looks like average copyright cult practice to me; Present an incomplete subpoena with vital parts missing, try to hoodwink the judge, then, when judge insists on formality, call said judge an “asshole” in their own courtroom.

When confronted by said judge with a contempt charge, act affronted and arrogant.

Honestly, this, in the end, is why copyright will eventually end. It’s defended by people who wouldn’t make the cut as pond scum.
