First off, it’d be the same argument Hollywood has about you stealing the movie that landed you on the pirate site in the first place… They spent millions to make it, the least you could do is pay the $50 a ticket to see it in cinema… American Express paid some ad agency millions of dollars to produce the ad and someone just right click-Save As’s it to use on their site without permission… HOW RUDE

Not only that, but they don’t control the ad….

What if, someone were to modify a promo code on the ad they’re photoshopping, so the new ad reads “Get 30% of your total with promocode: “WeHateN*****” All a sudden #AmericanExpressIsRacist is the top trending item on Twitter and they’re getting TONs of bad PR.

Or… since we already know anyone who operates a pirate site is the worst kind of criminal ever… What if the ad is being used as part of a phishing operation – just there as a front to harvest people’s American Express log in info? Or maybe its a legit Gucci ad directing you to a site selling counterfeit bags…

Hopefully Steam OS can change that. After all, there’s no reason we should have to get a Paystation 4, an Extortionbox One, or a Windon’t machine and give Sony or Microsoft our money to enjoy Gen 8 quality games. Truth is, I’ve thought about going the preowned path if I get a PS4 just to give Sony the finger for sinking to Microsoft’s level with the PS+ requirement for online multiplayer on that system.
