I like all the losers criticising Apple, but at the same talking and comparing with interesting speculations their other multinational brands devices that try to look like, really try too look like Apple products…..
Apple rocks, before the iPod, iPhone or the iPad we had nothing as simple, intuitive and useful, and were definitely also being played by other brands.
The question here is simple, people should do what they like and stop complaining about how well other people do, going out more and meeting more people in person instead of judging everything just because!
Apple makes too much money, the people that manage to do well are not sitting around complaining but are working on great ideas and being creative with their time, thus contributing and receiving the recognition and fruits of their efforts, in my view who doesn’t want that? Hypocrites is the norm these days, much more difficult to be driven and aim for excellence. Apple rocks for me, they enable me to make a living and be creative with my skills.

There’s a ton of thing that has just plain changed with the way Apple does its iOS thing now. They didn’t sure begin with third-party apps and stuff but when they did, the focus was on not letting the apps destroy the quality of user experience on Apple. But then, things got too stiff with Apple and we sure need such things like jailbreak and of course, iTransmission.

I will never buy an apple device.

Why not buy a phone that supports the freedom of the consumer?

Best way to tell a company to stop pulling stunts like these lockin crap is to not give them money.

You who have an apple device are destroying it for everyone else by supporting the company and encourage their behavior and making it worse and worse.

Well, if you live in the “land of the free” – you aren’t free to jailbreak it by law. Must suck having all that freedom over there. ;)

Access to every file in the file system.
A browser that can run most Flash games and Java apps.
An app like CheatEngine.
FTP/RDP/MySQL/VNC/TeamViewer client apps.
BitTorrent clients, YT video downloaders, SSH, Springboard hacks, .ipa cracking tools and the underlying linux platform accessible.

Only half of this would have been possible legitimately and the other half would have been paying for basic versions of applications I have on my PC (that are much more comprehensive and free).

I’m convinced you either have to have low technical requirements or be a complete fucking mug to get an iDevice and not find yourselves needing or badly wanting to jailbreak it.

One of my friends put it quite humorously, “android is for poor people”. He was joking of course, certain android devices can be just as expensive as ios devices. The point however, was that if you want the “cheaper” option, in terms of both price and software, you go with android. If you want the superior software, you go with apple. Sure, rooting your android phone may be fun, and running torrent clients may be fun, but it’s impractical & adds to the inferiority of android OS. The iPhone is just THE perfect phone. Not riddled with chinese malware in repos, not running clunky slow java code, ios is just beautiful, both on the front end (UI) & on the back end. Android is just disgusting. I’m sure I sound like the “sheeple” on here, but that’s really the best way I could put it. As for Apple itself, they do make mistakes but if you go to any professional development environment/event/workplace, everyone is on a Mac. They generally “get it”, and get things right.
