Got first letter in Feb/April, thankfully a reputable solicitor is a family friend. He sent a reply disputing all knowledge of the infringement and requested their evidence. No reply was recieved until 2 weeks ago, when i got another letter stating that i had not contacted them and that i must pay within 2 weeks or their client has authorised court action. Again i passed the info to my solicitor who sent another letter, tghis time a little more threatening, asking for full disclosure of evidence (if any), and that i would be filing for full compensation to any legal claims at their expense should they wish to proceed any further...he also got a dig in about the fact this was the second letter he sent. He also advised them that they must sent all further corespondance through his legal firm.

Time will tell if calling their bluff will work.

It is bizarre that they think they could win a court case with only circumstantial evidence.

I got one last friday, saying that i had downloaded a game 'Call Of Juarez'. I have no record of this on my computer and i refuse to bow down to these bully tactics.

I dont know how they can get away with treating people like this, this is surely entrapment and it wouldn't suprise me if logistep are planting there 'magic tools' all over the internet.

The owner of Logistep must be laughing all the way to the bank

And I got one today too, i fell soooo special.

Logistep are still saying on their website that they have a 40% success rate in recovering funds when their legal reps send out those intimidating letters. A year on from the "Pinball Dreams" and "Colin McRae: Dirt" shenanigans, in which no one that refused to pay was actually prosecuted, one wonders why several companies still use Logistep. Have Davenport Lyons continued to send out letters to P2P users? What's the latest?
