Considering the City of London is the “financial centre”, and PIPCU are supposed to deal with piracy *and* fraud, the obvious question is “why are they focussing on pirates instead of bankers?”

All this in the same week when Nurses, midwives and other health services employees go on strike because the government say that for the third year in a row there is no money available.
Odd isn’t it that there seems to be govenment cash freely available to support a corrupt and failing media “industry”, but none for health care.

The only thing I remember about UKIP was something in their manifesto before they nuked all copies of it and made a new one.

They wanted to make it illegal to advocate abolishing the monarchy under penalty of death for treason.

Didn’t read the article, headline was enough for me to comment. I rarely pirate anymore not because of the acronym obsessed assholes but coz its fast descending into anarchy on our side of things.

Abuse against uploaders, a distrust caused by malware ridden uploads, a lack of appreciation, abuse of each other & on private sites more & more back stabbing & reporting to authorities coz an admin hurt your feelings for breaking the rules. And more & more leechers who refuse to give back.

Loads more but honestly the torrent world will destroy itself before the acronyms do, the “scenes” not much better with groups reporting other groups.

Anyway that said (sorry for straying) stories like this beg the question as to why the uk are doing hollywood/usa dirty work so vehemently (at the cost of the uk tax payer as well) when they can’t get there own country in order? I mean doesn’t the usa have the biggest chunk of hosted pirate sites?

It certainly has the biggest complainers & campaigners & profiteers. Shouldn’t governments worldwide be telling them to sort their own problems out first? I mean if the usa took the same stance PIPCU is then no one else would need to, well not so much. Yet the usa forces everyone else to bend to their will when ignoring the problem.

The Pirate Bay is still online and file sharing still occurs. This is the very definition of “significant success” /Sarcasm

Fuck PIPCU and fuck the United Kingdom of Censorship. It’s because of the fools in power today I can’t download creative works available under a legitimate license from The Pirate Bay without first circumventing their site wide blocks…

Absolutely.

I read up on UKIPs policies besides the immigration as I was curious to see what there was beneath the one issue they were most vocal about…

All I see is clone of the Tory party, a little more capitalist-friendly and with no real economic plan that would actually help with regeneration and recovery.

It’s sad to see so many people getting manipulated through their prejudices and xenophobia to support a party.
