Still the Antigua bashers are missing the point, let me clarify this for you:

1) The US Gov commited a willful premeditated act of International Treaty Breach/Violation in their actions against Antiguan Gambling sites.

2) The WTO is the undisputable Judge, the jury and excutioner" when it come to rulings on International Treaties and breach panaties.

3) The US wanted to flex a bit of muscle and as a result landed before the Court (WTO). As a result the US were handed them their guts-n-garters on a plate. The WTO (the Court) decided against (verdict) the US Gov and decided they must forfeit revenues (the remedy) from copyright items to the sum mandated.

4) Since this is a verdict from the Court, the downloading of material to the amount covered under this order is in line with the ruling and must be accepted by all signatories of the WTO Treaties. To do otherwise, under pressure form the US or any other reason, is contravention of the Treaty and will result in penalties against the transgressor country.

5) Any action brought against persons downloading covered content from Antigua into the EU must take the verdict of the WTO into account, to not do so is also a contravention of the WTO Treatise.

6) The US Gov could cut of all access from it's shores to Antigua, but whay would they hope to gain??? The US is such an insignificant market when it come to an Antiguan point of view. Just look at the population numbers:

US 315 million comapred to...
EU 501m, Russia 144m, Pakistan 182m, Brasil 194m, India 1.2 billion and China 1.3 billion.

7) Do you think South America, India or China are going to give a rat's arse about what the US thinks when they have a WTO verdict in hand? Of course NOT. Not to mention all the other countries with 100m plus populations. Let the US stop all trade agreements with these countries in retaliation, they would only be cutting off the nose to spite their face.

For any EU Gov that decides to do the evil bidding of the US, there is always they European Court of Human Rights, totally independant from the national governments. They take their justice very seriously and have no problems ruling against EU Govs or American "big business". It has very large and powerful teeth with the ability to fine individual EU Govs into the 100 of millions and change any guilty ruling in ANY EU country court null-and-void FULL-STOP

It really must be said that I am experiencing a great deal of "schadenfreude" in seeing the US Corporate/Gov with their backs to the wall as if waiting to be shot at dawn. Time will only tell if they US does the "right thing" for once or continues down the path of the "Dark Side".
