It would still exist, but not in nearly the same quantity or quality as it currently does. The argument has never been that money is necessary for the production of art, only that it greatly increases both the number of artists and the amount of time/effort they can afford to devote to their products, particularly for the kinds of art that are naturally expensive to create.
