The term was coined up to confuse individuals that copyright, patents and trademark are all the same, even though they are clearly different. One limits sharing of culture, one limits commercial reproduction of inventions, the ability for farmers to do what they’ve done for thousands of years, and allows monopolies on one’s illness and disease, and the other prevents using another companies logo on your product. A lot of changes in each of those laws need to be made, but they are totally different laws.
