depending on the design of the underlying operating system, it is very easy to view the network connections a program is making, using tools built into the OS.
thus that wouldn’t stop spies. Or they would switch clients to one that does.

Another program could very easily be developed (by MPAA/RIAA/Gov/malicious people/curious people) which exposes the IPs to them. Heck, you wouldn’t even need a different program – you can just run a packet capture and record the IPs you’re in contact with.

The information is available to all the clients in a swarm – so it’s useless to hide them.

I2P is not designed to be used with the public Internet (clearnet). It is designed to be used within I2P itself – with other eepsites. There are very few outproxies (as I2P calls them) because they are not an inherent part of the network, and will never be.

UDP protocols like BitTorrent, however, work very well over I2P (again, I2P contains it within itself – you don’t download from clearnet peers).

Besides, if you use Tor for browsing the clearnet, you are putting your data in the hands of the exit nodes.

Tor is great. The US goverment hasn’t cracked it yet but they are spending thousands trying.
